Cause' then you would be one step closer to having a complete set.
Then you would only need a blue one & a red one.

I sure hope someone doesn't get too "suprised" when they buy it and realize there is a little problem.
The engine was blown up within 30 minutes of me trading it in on the ZO6. A very interesting story that is too long to tell here. If your'e interested e-mail me privately.

Not if Joe ***** the Ragman rebuilt it. Only dealers and insurance companies use Oasis and such.

It had to go back to the dealership, right? Would the dealership do it in-house?

The dealership blew it up, yeah they could've did it in house but kept it hush hush for the simple fact that people may take down the VIN and run it on Oasis. That would lead to confrontation and a very discouted price.
Synopsis 2: They wholesaled it to this clown and ate the difference like Joe said and this guy had it rebuilt and isn't saying nothing about it.
IMHO they sold it busted at auction. What dealer in thier right mind would wholesale a S/C MM with the miles as low as they are.

The bids are probably private so this schmuck could run up the price too.

No, like Fubar said .....
Not unless the repairs were made at a Ford dealer.
If the car had -
A new engine built with decent parts, by a decent wrench & was installed by a decent wrench with LEGIT RECEIPTS to back it all up .....
This might not be a bad car to chase after.
The fact this guy wants to keep this all hush hush is what sours the whole deal IMHO.
As we all know .....
The engine sitting in there, could, keyword COULD, have the potential to be better than the OEM one that took a dump.
But when one would rather not "go there" or be truthful about the history or offer up a description of the work done & some proof(aka receipts) ..... I wouldn't hold my breath.
Shoot .....
Proof of purchase & labor for a simple reasonably priced take out short or long block, or even a custom one, that others have found on-line here & bought for themselves, would even suffice as long as the labor wasn't a hack job.
Look at what I think TooManyFords picked up for his car :

Pretty damn reasonable if you ask me.
Damn shame too, as that car looks damn clean.
If I had some extra green laying around .....
I could see myself being a "Mr & Mrs MM" household round here ..... y'know what I mean ?.

Wait....the car was traded in with a Trilogy? Shoulda put it back to stock and sold the blower. Did you get extra $ for it? 99% of the time you don't and eat the cost of stuff like that.

Musta gotten some emails. Have since added this:
On Feb-27-06 at 07:50:53 PST, seller added the following information:
WE RECENTLY LEARNED THE ENGINE ON THIS CAR WAS REPLACED AT ONE POINT BY ONE SHOWING LITTLE OVER 3,000 MILES. ALL WORK WAS DONE BY QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS.

Even with the history of this car it may turn out to be a deal. I wish I could get that Trilogy and not the car. I wonder what Phil Smith chevy paid for it, it was ashame to trade in a car with all these goodies.

It's an aux switch for the XM satelite radio. You flick it and then use the CD button to listen to the satelite. I have it in my Vic...
Or likely a tune switch as his radio is pretty bad ass. Can't see the original owner not getting a head unit that is not already "XM Ready"...
oh, sorry didn't see the other post about the tuner switch...

Hmmm...
My younger brother was looking at this car during the first auction. He has since made an offer on another Marauder being sold by a private seller. But in the meantime, I received e-mail from the seller today too after my asking about the engine. The seller, "Carlos", says he was out of the country and knew nothing about the engine being replaced not being disclosed in the auction. And went on to explain how he fired somebody when the mistake was discovered or whatever. Let me go get it.....
OK, here's what the seller says.....
YES IT WAS REPLACED WITH ANOTHER D.O.H.C. 4.6L WITH A LITTLE MORE THAN 3,000 MILES ON IT BY MERCURY TECHNICIANS. I WAS OUT OF THE COUNTRY FOR A WHILE AND JUST CAME BACK AND FOUND THIS. I HAD INSTRUCTED MY NEWLY HIRED SALESMAN WITH DIFFERENT TASKS, AMONG THEM TO LIST THIS CAR AND TO POST THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT, OBVIOUSLY HE DIDN'T. THATS WHY I FIRED HIM. THIS DOESN'T DIMINISH AT ALL THE VALUE OF THIS CAR, BUT OF COURSE IT IS ONLY MY OPINION. IT LOOKS LIKE NEW IN AND OUT AND PERFORMES GREAT. IT WAS ME WHO CONTACT THE FIRST OWNER AND TOLD HIM ABOUT THE DAMADGED ENGINE, HE DIDN'T KNOW NOTHING. ACTUALLY I DIDN'T KNOW THERE IS SO MUCH INTEREST FOR THESE CARS, NOW I THINK IT WOULD HAS BEEN A GOOD DECISION TO KEEP IT. HOWEVER, MY SALESMAN SHOW ME COPIES OF A COUPLE HARRASING EMAILS, WHICH ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF PLACE. I APPRECIATE YOUR INTEREST. IF YOU HAVE MORE QUESTIONS PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME. THANK YOU, CARLOS.

91 octane is Premium fuel, 87 octane is Regular. If 91 octane blew the engine up.....not supposed to. 87 octane will detonate a S/C MM.

I also noticed in one of the engine pics that the coolant is green. MMs after 9/02 used the yellow stuff. It is ok to use the green coolant for the Trilogy. According to Carfixer, leaks are easier to detect.

1) If this is true, it should be in OASIS.
2) If it's a replacement, I want to meet the 'Mercury Technicians' who uninstalled and re-installed a Trilogy with no instructions.
3) Such a swap would surely have generated a call to Trilogy for help.
4) We know it was traded with 4920. So, they swapped the motor, swapped the Trilogy, dynoed, tuned, and test drove and it's at 4996?!
5) He's talking motor swap after 3K? It was traded in with 4920? Where's the motor swap info?
I feel very badly for the poor sole (yes, I mean sole not soul) who ends up with this car.
my 2 cents worth

O.K. Folks,
Just got off the phone with Carlos, new owner of Joe Blair's car(Trilogy S/C #46), and Claude. I have instructed Carlos to make some changes before he drives the car. I also referred him to Claude to work with us on the calibration. Bottom line, we are sending him a new Installation manual, a new calibration and some technical support to make the car healthy again. Carlos says he may not sell the car he likes it so much. Apparently one of his employees gave some mis-information and he is no longer an employee. But, we want to make sure the car is running well again. Also, the car was not running a Trilogy Motorsports calibration when the engine failed. So, I want to put the stock tune back in the car and correct some other changes.
Just thought the Marauder Family would like to know we are helping Carlos get the car back on its feet. Yes, the engine was toasted.
Sincerely,
Jerry

Yes, there's a very strong similarity in the "old salesman" and the "new salesman's" use of vernacular..or lack thereof :D
