I heard from someone that us 30 is being fixed and will be back. Does anyone know anything about this?

Yup thats it. I read a more recent article and heard from another source too that it was going to be reopened and then it was bought by someone else last month. Any info on if the "current" owners plans are to reopen this place?

The last I heard on it, the move was afoot for rezoning. That was late last summer, and it sounded promising because a school/race academy and museum were part of the plan. Haven't heard much since, I'll ask around.

Problem is, it's rather close to US 41, and that track is pouring on some money in a five year "make it or break it" attempt at racing revenues. Two tracks 25 miles apart...Dunno.

Given the history of US 30, I would rather race there than at US 41.

I really doubt that US 30 will come back to life.

It's a nice thought and all..............but.......... .....just don't see it happening.

I don't know enough about the place or zoning so I couldn't tell ya if I think it's going on open or not. I'll try to swing by it this weekend or next. I got my Marauder on that track last summer, but it was on the return lane and then the finish line. I was going to make a slow pass, but believe it or not another car was on the track so before they saw me I figured I better leave before I'd get shot. :o

Any changes in the works? It would be sweet to go back there, 1968 all over again. I used to race at Oswego very often too.

"It looks like the reopening of US30 Drag Strip has hit a "bump" in the road. It has been confirmed that Labana Management Company out of Ann Arbor Michigan has purchased the property. What effect does have on the plans to reopen US30? We don't know for sure yet. The new owners have not announced any specific plans for the property. However, both Mike's plan to continue pursuing every available option and have made contact with the new owners. We can't move forward until they make a decision. Until then...
