All -

I became interested in getting a Marauder in '05, learned a lot from visiting these forums, joined in January, and yesterday - bought one. Will be picking it up on Monday.

It's the DTR from Connecticut that showed up on eBay for a while with a photo of fast-eddieeeeee's car on a racetrack.

Car, for those who are curious, does have a Reinhart tune & spark plugs, thermostat to keep temp at 185, everything else stock. 25000 miles. Always garaged. Very pretty.

Me: 55 years next month, married, kids; the car I am getting out of is a 1993 Taurus SHO with a cracked windshield and body parts held on by duct tape, so I am looking forward to my new ride.

My other vehicles are bicycles. Current top speed 53 mhp. Willing to go faster if I can find a steeper mountain.

David A. Mark (Thanks, Rider90 for reminder).

...Or if you can get your wife to ride the bike while you tow her in your new Marauder. I'm sure you'll get 'er breaking tripple digits then! :burnout:

Welcome to another SHO-graduate!

I had a '91 and then a '95 before buying the Marauder.

The SHO's were great in their day, but it's been 17 years since they were developed... I think you'll really enjoy the updates of a tuned Marauder.

Red? I thought they were all black? :)

AzM - Maynard, MA is a non-famous old mill town just west of Concord. I've seen a black Marauder in town a few times (what first piqued my interest), so now there will be two. I suppose we will have to form our own club.

black - Wife is enough of a leadfoot that she can drive the Marauder and I'll draft behind on the bicycle.

I know where Maynard is... both my children were born at the hospital in Concord, Ma. and I served about 6 years at Fort Devens back in the early 80s.

So.. welcome to the MM.Net homey !

Jim - I appreciate your welcome, given that this was the DTR you were looking at on eBay. Did you end up buying a Blue from up this way? I was looking at one, but someone else got it.

Keeping the bike: >50 on a bicycle gives me the same tunnel vision and PAY ATTENTION DAMMIT that >110 in a car does (without the risk of a ticket).

Welcome David. You will love the Marauder, especially a DTR Marauder. Welcome to the club. The last time I tried to ride my age on a bike I ate a LOT of dirt. Wish I had it on tape. My last bike ride. I was paying attention, too. Bike lost its nerve. Good luck. Contact the Wraskally Wabbit on Cape Cod for local members and group. She knows it all and then some. Dennis:beer:

David:
I missed the blue one by 24 hours.:alone: Rather not talk about it.:alone:
But I think you got a good DTR, ozmarauder test drove it for me and answered THE question: "If it was your money would you buy it?" He said YES...unfortunately for me I was in the middle of hopefully buying the blue one when the DTR was relisted, so my loss, your gain. Now I'm just looking for the right car for my needs that My wife approves of...:D
Enjoy your new Marauder!

Jim -

There is another one up this way at a dealers in Fall River, MA, near Providence, RI.

Red, 24082 miles, asking $22,900 but likely to take less because it has been on the lot since 12/9. VIN is 2MEHM79V04X620495. I ran CARFAX. No surprises. One Massachusetts owner. I can email you the report if you are interested.

Contact at the dealer is Elisabeth DeChane 1-877-481-0143

Welcome!

I'm new myself....and yes....real Marauders are BLACK :o (ha-ha???..not looking to get flamed...).

If i was so fortunate to find another color I'd be even MORE protective of mine and the lousy Marauder weather up here (no, take that back...I'm REAL protective of my black...notta snow flake or salt granule will EVER grace her exterior again now that I'm in control).
Other colors???they make these in Blue????!!!!! Sooooooo rare....

You've got a lot of friends in this "town" (had I known I was looking for "Smoke"...new car name thanks to my Tony Stewart lovin' wife) I would have logged in a long time ago. There is TONS AND TONS of knowledge here even for a novice like me...(even feel so bold enought to post!).

I only add in since I know there was a DTR only minutes from my home...car was in New Britain, CT and I think the dealer was savvy enough to try Ebay...not sure if they posted it on Ebay (was a dealer). It was very clean.

Watch the triple digits...only took me less than a month with mine in CT on I-95. Nice quite stretch and nice high RPM pull from the 4.6...still lived to fight another day.

Larry -

Digital was in the mill buildings from 1970-90, but the complex of buildings is far older. The Maynard family (for whom town named after) were operating mills in the 1840's. They had the contact for the Union Army woolen uniforms and horse blankets. Current tenants include monster.com.

Welcome David:

After stepping out of the Taurus you will warm up to the Marauder very quickly.

As to Maynard, I lived there up 'til '85 when I bought my first home and headed off to NH.

Now I'm in Gardner, MA, I've got an '03 300A, black with only 6800 miles.

It may have been me you saw in Maynard, I've been down that way quite a few times in the Marauder. I have a buddy that works at Village Saab.

Best,

Paul :D

I didn"t know there were that many MM in MA. I have seen threads by MMONK and Marauder2005 but BEEMER and Paul Hersom are new to me. I guess I'll have to get involved a little bit more. Maybe we all can get together sometime this summer and have a

Car is at its new home. I'll post a picture soon.

At no point during the 133 mile drive back from Connecticut did I exceed...

....100 MPH.

Paul - There may actually be a third Marauder (black) in/near Maynard. Friend of mine knows the owner and I'm pretty sure he said owner is Maynard resident. Given the size of the town's police force, we can probably muster more MMs than they can CVPIs.
