There are mixed opinions regarding the Throttle Body. I for one think that not only will it be a good mod, but it adds to the bling factor as well. 349 plus free shipping is a deal. So for all that want one, please post here. I need at least 10, well 9 more. Any negative opinions can be said on the other thread.

It should work nicely with my current induction mods. I'm in.

I'm sure I missed another thread about this, but what is the make of the TB? Size? What company is offering the group buy?

What are the specs on the tb? I have a BBK twin 62 but this really looks nice and if it's available in a twin 65 size I may go for it.

I may be able to get it for even less from my wholesaler, should I try? :burnout:

It sure wouldn't hurt my feelings. Knowing Marc, it's not for pride, it's for price!

Thanx, Wes!

Mark, Angry Duck Tofu Racing has the BBk twin 65mm Cobra throttle body for $324. Please consider them as a supplier as well. I don't know much about gains on a N/a Marauder from a thorttle body. If you install a larger TB on a Crown Vic with the MM airbox and ported upper plenum, it add some serious power to your car. You may want to get the inlet on your upper intake mainfold ported to match the throttle body ports. You should get about 8 hp at the wheels from it. You can get more if you also port the intake mainfold.

Just for comparison shopping, if I can beat it by a good price, I appreciate the business so I can keep the lights on and the advertising fees paid here as a Vendor :)

This is an email to and from Accufab:

Dear Sir,
I didn't see you name listed in your post on MM.net. My apologies for not using your name.

I am very interested in the Accufab TB for 03MM. I have, in the past used various TB on small Honda motors (1.6L ) with great success. I intend to keep my MM NA. As such, I have done such things as CAI, full custom 2.5" (up from 2.25") exhaust, and intake spacer. I also have an off-the-shelf SCT tune for the moment.

I would like to complete the 'breathing' mods and then have the tune re-programmed ONCE to get the most out of the PACKAGE.

I see your test of 9-10 RWHP for the new TB. Given the above mods, what is your seat-of-the-pants best guestimate with the listed improved brathing? I am averaging about 1HP/$10 at this point (which is incredibly good IMO). Given 400 for the TB, I am not expecting 40 HP, but I am curious of your estimate given the all-around better breathing. Further, I am quite aware this entire package will not reach full potential 'till tuned. I will gladly return B4 and after numbers should I use AFTB.

Thanx inadvance for your time. Also, thanx for taking the time to post on MM.net!

Sincerely
Rich W.

and the reply:

I wouldn't expect more than 5hp because the lower manifold is too restrictive. It will have better throttle response.

And there you have it. Bling factor and seat-o-the-pants factor.

Two years ago, Zack and I opened up the lower intake manifold, polished things up and did some careful "before and after" dynos. Spent over 500 bucks in parts and labor. Neither of us are using that manifold, why?

Gained 40 RWHP in the upper RPMs...Lost 40 RWTQ under 4000 RPM.

Was it NA? I am assuming so. Wonder where the torque went.
Could it have been a velocity issue?

Is that 5hp gained when just bolted on? or is that After tuning??

If it pulls about 10 RWHP after tuning then I may consider it.
Anything to get me closer to the 300 club.

I was working with Marc to get this group buy going and at a better price.

I have negotiated the price down to $319 shipped. And I got the merchant to order enough to hopefully have them in stock for anyone who wants one.

Ready to ship as of today...!!!!

The merchant is a place I have been going to for years. And has been in business for 30 years. Since this is a group buy and this merchant isnt a retailer here I am not putting their name out but most here would have heard of them if you are into Ford high performance stuff....

They are available to ship today. Payment would be made to me by Paypal or US Postal Money Order only. They will be able to ship them out as the orders come in instead of waiting for the entire group of 10+ to get the money together. This saves everyone time and gets it in your hands quicker. If paying by paypal please add the 3% fee plus $.50 for the transaction which are as you know, charged by paypal and not avoidable. So the Paypal total would be $329.07 if I did that correctly.

I am taking responsibility to guarantee the minimum of 10 get ordered. So if there are any left I am going to handle selling them to some other groups I know. But with the initial interest I saw in this thread I dont think it will be an issue with us selling 10 on our own.

Please pm me to confirm your order and work out payment details.

Also, please pm me with any questions about the process. I do not have answers about the product other than it is in stock and ready to ship. And that it will fit our cars. I will be putting mine on this weekend.

PLEASE PLAN ON HAVING YOUR PAYMENT IN BY APRIL 8TH. Thats 2 1/2 weeks. Again, this will move a little quicker since they are in stock as I type this.
