I'm hoping to have the time to install my new addco front sway bar this weekend. What a heavy horse it is!!!
I have checked past posts on this, and am confused a bit.
Is it necessary to keep a load on the front tires, or can I just take the front tires off and put the car on jack stands for this install?
Any installation tips you want to throw out are appreciated.
Thanks, Jim

RoyLPita & My self did the front sway bar. We put the car on jack stands took off the front wheels . We had to turn the front end steering a little side to side to line up where it had to be connected too. Wasn't too bad or hard to do.

On sway bars, I generally take a slightly different approach.
First, because sway bars do not have captured bushings that need to be tightened at ride height, jack stands are fine.
But I've found it best to keep the front suspension loaded, else the end links tend to be at more of an angle, which can
make them a bit more hassle to connect up. So, I like to put my jack stands under the lower control arms.
Did ya buy paint for your calipers? The link ends are very easy to unbolt if you take the calipers and rotors off. Unbolt the caliper bracket bolts and not the slide bolts (The two more towards the spindle. I believe they're 18mm headed.). A little masking tape or pipe dope (Rope Caulk) and some VHT paint in your choice of color (read: Silver) and you're on your way. Spray the rotor "hats" also. A couple of bungees work well to hang the calipers. That'll keep the load off of the brake hoses!
Supporting the car on stands is critical. As JACook said, place them under the lower control arms. Keep a jack in there somewhere just for safety in case the car should shift. Parking brake and blocks under the rear wheels in both directions would be smart as well! Call me if you have any issues or questions.
Good Luck and have some fun!
