Top Speeds

OK, I have had my Marauder @ 115 on a nice clear Interstate. Decided that I just didn't have enough cajones to push it since there was some other traffic and they were cooperaring by staying to the right (big, fast moving, black car, flasing headlights, probably helped a little:D ).

I do have an SCT tune and another tune from a MM.net forum member and rev limiter is fairly high and speed limiter is not supposed to be an issue.

Everything else is stock save a K&N air filter (no kit). What top end could/can be expected?
Any one willing to estimate, or better yet, confess?

Not likely that I'll find out what mine can do unless I get a shot at TMS.

I had an off the shelf SCT tune and a JLT and got to 135 on 2 seperate occasions;....it was very early morning....no other cars.....yeah I know, I'm a dumb kid. Anyway, that's as fast as I could get it to go, but I didn't stay on it long enough to find out if it would do more. I would expect you to get about the same if you have stock gears, as I do. I haven't done it lately, but I'd like to see if I could do any better now....:rolleyes:

Also, my rev limiter is set at 6200 rpm, but she was only revving to about 5400 or 5500 when it topped out

My rev limiter is also set at 6200 rpm under load, 5k noload. I was too busy watching traffic and speedo and didn't notice Tach at the time. I do know it was well above 3500 since it was above that when I backed off and did sneak a peek.

I dunno but once I get my 3.73's and tuner I'm going back to Wendover. I think I can break 140. :)

I'm not sure you can get 140mph out of 3.73s, thats a high gear ratio...

Theres a thread somewhere that gives the top speeds with no limiter, when you have 3.55's and 4.10's.
I think someone said 147 is possible with 3.55's

The one thing about travling fast...the cop might not catch you doing your top speed, but remember, it's a LONG way BACK to the speed limit. 120/140 back to 65 takes a bit. And don't be fooled that because you're slowing down the radar can't getcha...90-100mph in a 65 isn't a fun ticket.

That was me, not that I know anything about those kinds of speeds or anything..... (BTW, I had my driveshaft high speed balanced)
