Inserting Images ?

I have never done this before and I am confused. I read the vB help and understand you have to point to your file (say a jpg) with an http path. The question is - where can you keep the file so that you can point to it?
Also- if you want to put an image in a reply, do you create the reply and then edit to insert the image?
Basic questions - I know - but they have me scratching my head.

I'll leave the majority of this answer to the experts, but briefly, if you want to insert an image that's already on your computer into a reply, just type the path to it into the "attach file" box near the bottom of the "reply" form...or click the "browse" button, find the file, and click "open"...that'll insert the path into the "attach file" box for you...

Attaching pics to posts themselves is frowned upon unless it's directly related to a technical conversation. Plus there's a size restriction to attachments.

The best way is to use the photo gallery to host your pictures. You can upload your pictures to the photo gallery via the link above. Then, bring up the picture in the gallery and right click on it. Select properties and you'll see the "Address (URL)". Highlight the entire address with your mouse and right click. Select Copy. Then, in your message, just paste the URL between the img and /img tags and away you go... :)

I understand. I would also assume if you have some web space, you could point to it for pictures and other big ticket items.

My mental handicap is showing! :confused: :help: How do I get the following added to my sig: C:\windows\desktop\image779.gi f I did the img /img in brackets and that did not work. Please :help: this mentally handicapped MM owner!!

You cannot use the IMG command for pics on your computer. You must first host the image somewhere (like here), then add the link to that image with that IMG command.

Looks like I need to write on that FAQ some more.
