Greetings everyone! I'm close to purchasing my first MM and one of the first mods I'm considering is the Trilogy setup.I'm curious if there is copy of the installation manual that can be viewed / downloaded so I can "study" prior to purchasing. Thanks for your time.

Welcome Aboard. Enjoy the site. I had a look at the install guide from another member here. I am looking forward to doing it myself when I get mine.

Good idea. That's what I did before I made a decision about S/Cing my Marauder, and as soon as I saw that Trilogy manual, the decision was easy. A whole lot easier than I thought it would be. Time consuming? Yes. But nothing hi-tech at all. Only simple tools were required too. Good luck w/your choice. It's good that you're doing your homework. That's what I did.

Can also check around your area for other Trilogy Marauderers for a manual

I called and got mine. The only part that is not shown is how to change over the alternator pulley.

I called and got mine. The only part that is not shown is how to change over the alternator pulley. That's true, but with the special tool for doing that which the Trilogy kit comes with, it's pretty much self explanatory once you get to that part of the installation process.

I used the tool with an impact gun to remove the pulley from my alternator, but although that got it started, the pulley didn't want to come off the whole way, so I had to end up cutting it off with an angle grinder. You can also use a cut-off wheel with a die grinder too. However, some Trilogy customers have simply taken their alternator to a parts store that has a shop to have the pulley removed. If you ended up doing that, then I suppose you can just go ahead and bring them the new pulley that the Trilogy kit also provides you with, and have the shop install it.

Hey not to hijack, but on that alternator pulley removal tool, mine didn't fit inside the area on the stock alternator pulley. I had to use a small hammer to basically get it part-way in, held my breath and hit it with an impact wrench and it came loose.

Not sure - is this how it should work or should the tool with splines actually fit all the way inside the pulley's nut?

Thanks for updating the install though, it's a great reference peice and cool to see it's a living document! :)

Breadfan,
Yes the manual is a living thing. We are continually trying to make it absolutely perfect.

The tool should have easily fit in there. I just checked on a couple here at the office and they slid easily into there. I don't know why you had to do it with a hammer, that is not how it should work though and the tool should fit all the way inside.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what was going on. :)

I actually spent a few hours on that particular step, I was really afraid of stripping either the pulley nut or removal tool.

I tried multiple times to fit it in, even thought maybe it was keyed. I had 2 other people try too. Luckily, I was able to get it in enough to get it off. :)

We had a devil of time getting the alternator pulley off as well. Had to hammer it in to fit, Then used an impact wrench to break it loose.

Yup, mine was the same way. For what it's worth, my alt. seems fine and I removed it in a similar fashion.

I will look into these tools, to make sure they are fitting. I tried a couple here in the office and they worked just fine. I will keep you guys updated.

The tool fit fine on the alternator on my Marauder. It's just a bit if a chore removing the pulley even with the tool. W/out the tool, it might be close to impossible. The tool atleast helps you get it started. Those who are worried about it should just take the tool and the alternator to any parts store that has a machine shop, or any place that sells and rebuilds alternators, so that they can pay $10 or $15 to have the old pulley removed and the new one installed. It doesn't have to be any big deal.
