Today I took the marauder down to my local Garage to get Her oil dumped and some fresh Redline put in. My wrench called me into the shop where the car was on the lift I saw a rather large oil stain on the cars suspenison. The leak is definately coming from the lines right next to the oil filter. Everything is stock as far as thats concerned, no aftermarket cooler or anything like that. Has anyone had this problem? If so How did you fix it? I am still under warranty.

It could be spilled oil from when he changed the filter-I have the oil deflector and I still made a mess when I changed my oil this morning.Clean everything off really good, start her up and watch to see where its leaking from- but its probably just from the filter change. What did the mechanic have to say about it?

This oil was there before He pulled the filter, I guess it could have possibly been from a previous time. But that sounds good, Ill go clean it up and run it for awhile.... See what happens

Thanks again

RedMerc04....

I have an oil deflector that I don't need and will give it to you if you send me your mailing address. It helps with the mess but doesn't completely eliminate it!!:argue:

I fixed mine for good......Remote Filter Mount.....NO PROBLEMO NOW!!

What does your garage floor/driveway say about this?

Get a 4X4' section of cardboard and place it under the car, tucked under the driver's side. Mark straight lines using the front tire as a guide so you will place it under the car in the same spot every night, and read what happens overnight.

You may have an oil leak related to the oil filter, or, a leak starting somewhere else, that follows frame rails and engine block contours.

Start at the finish and work backwards?

Sorry It took me so long to respond... I was busy with St. Patty's day stuff this weekend.. But I cleaned the whole thing up and there was definately a leak from the lines for the remote filter. after I drove it for a half hour or so i noticed a few fresh drops of oil that leaked out and stained the suspension. So anyway the car is at the dealer now being fixed under warranty and i should hopefully have her back by tomarrow.

Ps. Marauderjack- What exactly Is this thing? What does it look like? Im pretty interested Ive just never heard the oil deflector before.

It's a black plastic thingy that snaps on to your PS tubing below the filter and directs most of the oil from the filter away from the frame...It works so so....

I just sent mine to a member here or I would let you have it!!

Your dealer can order or call Ray and get one.;)

" But I cleaned the whole thing up and there was definately a leak from the lines for the remote filter."

Is the leak from a line in a remote oil filter setup? I'm considering a remote setup and want as much info as possible before I make my decision.
