Was reading the owners manual on my sisters Ford Freestyle (nice car by the way) and it said that the headlight bulbs are 9008 or H13. Never heard of them and have never noticed them on the shelf at my local parts jobber.

Anyone ever hear of them? Hope they are not something that can only be purchased at your local Ford Dealer.

My buddy had a VW New Beatle and had to get a headlight bulb replaced. It was a bulb that could only be had from a VW Dealer.

Lucky for us our MM's use a bulb that can be had anywhere.

I think I've seen 9008's on the shelf, just a different style hookup and orientation of the bulb. Don't think they're too special, but not as popular as the 9007's so maybe harder to find if the store isn't stocked well.

The VW's have projector beam lights, they're a sealed assembly so you need to buy the whole unit to replace. I'm guessing (and have heard) that get's sorta expensive...especially if you want to put them in as pairs which you SHOULD do even if only one is burned out...
