You May recall my driveshaft issues aftre the 4:10's went in...
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25506&highlight=driveshaft
I picked up one from a 2000 CV Police car and had it balanced and new joints put in.
My original shaft had them two big weights, This Police shaft had one on one end.
Much better now! Costs?
Used Shaft- $100.00
Balance and Joints- $110.00
Previous balance attempt on orignial shaft $50.00
Total_ $260.00. Plus the $480.00 for the 4:10's and I spent$740.00 to get better gears!
Now, when DR sends me my Metco Loop, I'll be good to go for a bit.
Here's some pics:

I'm in the same boat.
4.10s are shaking my rear at 100+ mph. Lower speeds are fine, it's high speed.
What are the year ranges for the CVPI shafts? I'd like to have my shop do the same thing, is this a basic operation? Or involved?

Rich & Marauder45,
Long ago I looked into the DS issue and went directly to the
DReinhart - Dynotech MMX shaft due to harmonics and strength.
I felt the MMX shaft from him would be safer in the long run.
The origional with 410's would have a lower speed of safety for
itself and the trans.
The PI CV would be set a little higher yet with 410's the shaft still
is designed for 327 or a 355 rear end and a top end of 130 or so.
With 410's in it lowers that top safety level.
The DR - Dynotec MMX shaft has thicker sides and far different harmonics.
All of the undercover MM's that live in 145+ area use that this shaft for safety. I wanted to protect myrself and the trans. plus if you are putting
out more power you need more strength.

Warren,
Thanks for the info and sharing your thoughts.
When I hit 100 it's rare, and my concern was getting the bad vibration out of the car that the swap produced at 75-80 mph. I will drive there, especially for a long term on I-95.
The MMX shaft is a good idea, but not needed for my use.

I have the same concerns Warren expressed. However, I also think you have done a nice job at curing any problems you may expect to rise within your personal driving habits. Bravo, and thanks for adding your clarification. Best wishes in your driving experience.
