MM built April, '02...Odd man out?
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Gary (Chapel1) resently did some excellent detective work for me and discovered my Marauder may be a "one of a kind"! ;) It seems (?) my #......602213 (built 4-9-2002) was the 54th made and the only MM built in April of 2002. Hard to imagine it was the only one built in that April.

Here is the OASIS report for the VIN stated above:
Build date:4/9/02
wty start date:4/25/02
OASIS shows a
Warranty repair history (full):
Indepence Lincoln Mercury
5/10/02 @ 1251 miles
CLOCKED ON VERIFIED OIL LEAK REMOVED LEFT BANK CAMCOVER AND RESEALED WITH NEW GASKET TO CORRECT OIL LEAK NECESSARY TO R&I WIPER MODULE ASSEMBLY, MAST ER CYLINDER, DRAIN COOLING SYSTEM AND R&I UPPER RADIATOR HOSE, REMOVE THROTTLE BODY AND UPPER AIR INHORN ASSEMBLY TO ACCESS CAM COVER
Pfeiffer Lincoln Mercury
6/23/03 @ 8522 miles
replaced faulty coolant temp sensor (running rough, losing power)
8/11/03 @10203 miles
lubed hood at latch (squeaks and vibrates)

So, one month after it was built, it was in Independence, MO for an oil leak. Anyone care to help diagnose my cars past? I believe it was purchased from Ford by Pfeiffer L-M at a later date in a dealer only auction or sale in Detroit

You may have an early build used for last minute advertising photo shoots, and participation in local new-car Auto Shows. Around here, only the special built "concept cars" are owned by Ford. The cars on display on the floor are supplied by local dealers, and the reps at the show are salesmen from local dealerships.

In order for this to work for the 2002 Auto Shows, there must have been at least 50 Marauders out in the retail pipeline before actual production began in May of 2002. The formal announcement of the build was made sometime around 13-15 May, 2002. It was a STAP press release, with photos of the official first Marauder off the production line.

Why don't you contact that dealership and ask them to look up the history of that sale from their end?
