Air Bag Light...

Ok so I'm driving along, the airbag light will start to blink after a couple minutes of driving... then after maybe a minute it stays lit until I turn off the car. I start back up and it goes out after a couple seconds like it's supposed to... Then a couple minutes after driving it blinks then stays on again...:confused:

My first MM had a problem with the airbag light. Dealer put a new sensor in the passenger seat.

Ditto that, plus a new crash sensor on the core support.

Yep, same problem here, my 2003 mountaineer, 2004 marquis, and 2004 lx sport all had the same problem. Seat belt retensioners they called em

Your MM should have 5/50 airbag/seat belt coverage. Take it in.

HA ford strikes again... It's apparently ONLY the RESTRAINT SYSTEM that's covered... AKA I have to go spend $80 to see what sensor is bad... and then pay to have the sensor replaced... GO ford you guys rule :down: :shake: .

Yeah I'm done with this company people the BS level is way too high for me, I get to pay for their faulty parts. I am beyond pissed.

update: ok two stupid dealers or a stupid ford person? OK @ dealers have told me that's it's 3yrs, I called ford directly. Lady on the phone said no it's 5 yrs... anyone have the number for the ford rep around here?

This is a load is :bs:. The 5/50 air bag/seat belt components is a goverment mandated thing. Unless your vehicle was in an accident, air bag lights are covered. If they won't budge...............try another dealer. This is advice from me and my boss- the service manager from Maroone Ford of Delray.

Thanks for the advice I went in there and drilled them about it and after about 2 hours they said that it was indeed covered, ordered the parts and said they'd give me a call when they come in... If only the next closest dealer wasn't so far way :mad2:
