How many of you received the mailing from Mercury Promotions Headquarters in the mail ? They are encouraging us to send videos of "why we love our Mercury" for possible inclusion in their TV commercials ???????? Let's send them 3,000 videos of our Marauders and see their reaction:D :flamer: I can't wait to see their reaction and answering letter. If you didn't get one--I'll e-mail you a partial copy with the info. Let's hear some feed-back, Maury

"I also warrant and represent that my video does not depict (a) unsafe behavior / activity that could result in physical injury or property damage;"
This was in the EULA, means I doubt they'll be showing drag racin'...we'll see though!

I am seriously interested in this, it looks like it could be a lot of fun. Besides videos under a minute don't take too long. The only problem is it looks like they want new models. From a marketing stand point it would make sense, why advertise a vehicle no longer made? The only reason for that is if you could depict how much we love our cars. It seems like the videos are all fairly similar, I have a different approach in mind. Only thing is I don't think I have the resources to do what I have in mind. Oh well I will probably churn out a few 60 second clips in the next few days.

Yeah, they would have folks beating down the L-M doors looking to get their hands on those "new" Marauders.

Yeah, they dont want to hear from the discontinued models.
Come to think of it, we really should inundate them with what we have..... bastards. :D

Charlie, If everyone just uploaded the burnout, road track, drag strip and muffler sound videos they might just get the point. Plus we have the fun of busting their collective azzes. Of course they won't use it but why the hell not. Doesn't take any longer than me typing this drivel. Dennis:beer:

And I can see Steve Babcock now saying "What are they(meaning us) up to now?" and looking at Anne Stevens and Elaina Ford, saying "Told ya so, shouldn't of canceled the Marauder."
I can dream can't I?

I watched all the "best of" video's-- lame. This is exactly why mercury has a hard time selling a car. their slogan should be "why buy a ford when you can buy an even more boring car" or "mercury - yes, we are still in business"

Those videos reminded me why I am replacing the "hocky sticks" badges on my car. I want nothing to do with those loser videos. I truely hope that none of my friends and family ever see those videos.

Let's do a one minute version of the horror movie "The Car" starring a Marauder. Maybe we could get "Directed By" to direct it and "NBC Shooter" to film it.

Well I tossed one together real quick, it's 1:01. My transitions pictures and lots of other things are sloppy. But I don't have the movie editing software to do this the way I would have wanted to. Also to make it perfect I would need to spend a lot more time getting the sound transitions right and I would have rather used some better pictures and some video too. I don't really like it because it's kind of like a rough brainstorm of what a fun commercial this idea could be. Also I know Mercury would never dream of using it because it plays one mercury car vs the other. But anyways here is my short Marauder Commercial (http://filebox.vt.edu/users/jeffreyk/Cowbell%20commercial.wmv)

See, Dennis is a genious. I was thinking the same thing. If we all bombard them with emails of our cars doing donuts and burnouts and such, it would be like saying in your face. And at the end of the email write the following, "By the way, my next car will be a Chyrsler 300 hemi!"
Kind of spitting in their face... but that's the whole point! :banana2::burnout::burnout:
