View Full Version : New Classified Area
A few months back a new Classifieds area came into use on our site. From what I can tell it offers more features than the old, forum based section did.
On the other hand, the old forum based section was always right there. Every time you came to the forums you could see it.
From a sellers point of view having more features is good but only if the new area gets as much traffic as the old area.
The purpose of this poll is to give our leadership feedback from us which could be used to make decisions which will strengthen our community and this site.
Thanks for answering.
Best,
Dan

Your poll is missing a 3rd option that applys to me.
3: I dont check classifieds anymore now than I did before.
I basically wonder around until I need (more like "want") something. Then I check the classifieds
Works ok for me.

...and what makes you think it's open for debate? ;)

I don't think that at all.
I just want to create a data point for future reference.
Thanks for leaving this poll up thus far.

Dan

I guess a neutral choice would have been good. But I still think info can be gleaned from the two choices.
If you don't mind, I'll send you a PM the next time I want to do a poll so you can help me to trouble shoot it.

I'd like to be able to edit my own ad.
I'm not sure if the old system would allow that, as I have never used it.
I will need to post a picture, as soon as I wash it!

I propose that this area would be an excellent place to post group buys and other vendor specials. I note that there is a group buy attempt currently ongoing for Zack and Mack control arms and for the new throttle body. Perhaps there would be more response if they were listed in the classified section? One easy to find spot for deals. Just a thought.
I just voted. I wanted to wait for a few votes to come in so as to not skew anything from the start.
I also wanted to test to see if voting bumped the thread and guess what? It didn't. I didn't know that. Did you? Just something to keep in mind when voting on or creating a poll.
Best,
Dan

How do I post an ad?
How do I post an ad?
I do not know but a good start would be to start a new thread with the question. That way the topic of the thread can be about posting and ad as opposed to what this thread is titled as.
Not trying to be smart, just trying to be helpful.

Sorry, I thought since this thread is about the classified section, this would be a legitmate question. I can do as you suggest if you want more clutter on the board.
It was not meant to be an attack. This thread is about the classified sectionb but, more specifically, whether or not you check the classified section more or less since the change.
I wouldn't look at your new thread as more clutter. I would look at it as more activity and that, as Martha says, "Is a good thing." :)

Dan

quote" and what makes you think it's open for debate"
haha thats good enough for me!!
I never check classifieds either I go to Ebay Motors
I do not think that Logan is close minded. The idea was/is only to create a point for reference.
So far, it looks like there is a balance so it looks like the poll will wind up neutral.
Best
Dan
