MM Not Sitting Even

An 18-wheeler was sitting across from my routine parking spot today, so I just parked right out front of the building. :D I was just looking at the car (as I am prone to do alot :) ) and noticed that the driver's side exhaust tip seemed to be lower than the passenger side. :dunno:

I went in and got the measuring tape and sure enough, when measured from the ground the left tip is at 14" and the right is at 15.25" (1.25" difference). Then I measured the rear fender wells. The driver's well is 28.5" and the passenger side is 29.375" (0.875").

It seems that my driver's side exhaust tip is 3/8" lower and the entire car is 7/8" lower on the driver's side. :eek: The ground is pretty level. Could be the air suspension is bleeding off more on the left side. That still doesn't account for the alignment of the pipes. I feel ........ lopsided. :rolleyes:

The car is tilted like that for left hand turns.

Both of my MMs are slighly off as you note. One of the things you could check is tire pressure. Don't just fill a tire to where you want it, go a few PSI past your target, and release air until you're in your zone. Then re-measure your heights with the car running, which inflates the air suspension.

The car will balance out when you get driving.

Bluerauder, also check the rubber hangers right above the tips. The Blackbird's left one was improperly installed and made the left pipe sit offset towards the inside...

Thanks for the info ... I will check the pipe hangars and the car after I start and run it. :D

My buddy was driving behind me and noticed that my driver side tyail pipe was sitting lower then the passenger side. Went and measured and it was off, made adjustment on the hanger and both are perfect.

Yeah, like that's gonna happen !!! :rolleyes: Even with it in its present "defective condition", it still outshines everything else in the neighborhood and provides more grins per mile than all those Lexei, Infinitus, Mercedezes, .... put together. :D

My '97 Town Car, bought new; did the same thing. Im 95% sure its normal

for these Ford air-bag suspentions. My 2003 MM does it, along with my

fathers 05 Town Car

Mine does it too.

The factory tech blamed it on the front springs, changed them and it made no difference.

My guess is it's in the frame. It can't be the air bags as they are connected and will always be equal in air pressure.

Anyways, I gave up on it when I realized maybe it's supposed to be that way.(?) When the engine torques up it tries to twist the car, clockwise as viewed from the back, so maybe it's not so bad after all.
