Okay how about this:
I got a call tonight from a Stanley Adams he said he was from the ford plant in Canada. He asked me to rate the car and asked what I thought of the fit and finish. I told him I liked the car but was disapponted with the paint on the car, the passanger window sticking, and the flickering dash lights (I was trying to think of anything else I had read here but came up short).
He then asked what I thought Ford could do to improve the Marauder, I said more power to the rear wheels, 4:10 gears and better paint. He thanked me for my time and suggestions.
He than said if I had any more concerns that I could call the customer service number at 1-800-521-4140.
Was all this for real did any of you guys get this call?
Or did someone just pull one over on me?
I also told him about this website and that he could find out a lot more by stopping here.

The factory rep that called me said they were random calls. Whatever that means. You folks were probably out when they called. Yea right. I had the MM approxmately 3 weeks when they called. John

I'm doubtful it's a factory rep. More likely was a young fresh from school kid who works for the program or in marketing at Ford, and wanted to do some six sigma projects or gather other info on the car to report back to the management team. I used to work for Ford and did that for the Ranger truck, I got involved in several message boards just like this one, and gathered data on what people were looking for in the next ranger, summarized it, and fed it to the program manager. helped me get promoted and moved off of platform work..yuk, too many parts to keep track of cost on.

But did it do any GOOD? Did Ford listen to any of the suggestions? Was the new Ranger a better car for it?
...and what about Mary Lou? (half-baked reference only other old stoners will get)
(hint: think "really BIG rolling paper")

looking, Hey, have you gotten PAID for a survey? Huh? Huh? Yah... thought so! NEXT! :D
I did have someone call me from one of the surveys I filled out, and they said they will pass along this info to Ford and I may want to expect a call from them. However, I'm hardly ever at home (ask Sarge and Marty about that!).

Ranger suggestions, some made it into options, major audio packages (tremor), and others never made it (live axles), but all in all, Ford was always pretty open to consumer input. We hosted several gatherings of Ranger owners to get their input on the truck, etc...
Factory reps do not really exist. it's all either ford marketing or outside survey companies like Polk or something.
