Tonight TMF and I went out a-cruisin' since we both had cleaned up our MMs. He was basically spotting for me since it's his last weekend with his car for a few given the, um, er, secret project he has going on. That and he can't really race with all that power on skinny street rubber. Couple more weeks . . .. :D
Anywho, there were a few kids out playing as well as two SRT4s and a 200x? SVT Cobra. I like a good Cobra, but those SRT4s just need some damn humility.
On our nearby private track (right next to Wendy's) I was lined up in between the Cobra (on my left) and the faster of the two SRT4s (on the right).
The SRT kids shoulda started with the slower of their two cars -- after all, I'm only a Marauder, and N/A at that. It's too bad they didn't taunt me. From the first light, er, tree we were all even, though the SRT4 pulled about half a car on me in 3rd (kinda strange, I thought he would have gotten me on traction and I would have pulled on HIM as RPMs got higher). The Cobra and I were close, though he had me by a nose.
Light #2 must have had them crapping themselves as I got them securely off the line, and never did give up the lead in the amount of "track" we had.
Of course, everyone had traction issues and I had to walk mine out each time. However, I have a Cobra and a stage III turboed SRT4 on my kill sheet, and I have a witness.
I only found out about the Stage III kit after the kid pulled into a gas station and I saw the 5-inch purple boost gauge on his pillar and asked him about it. I should not have been in the same *county* as this guy. Hmm. I'll take 1-1 vs. both and go to sleep tonight with a big-a$$ grin. I have a feeling that I would not take these guys with better conditions (with temps around 35F I had the better power to traction ratio), but it has to be just a bit frustrating to lose to a luxo-barge.
Of course, when TMF's ride is done, mine will be the slower of our two cars, so they will have to go through me to earn the right to be spanked by him.
It's gonna be an eventful summer.
The above account is fiction and cannot be used against me in any legal proceeding. So nyahh.
