I went to college right next to that speedway. I lived there for 4 1/2 years. My house was about 2 miles south from the speedway, and every february I could turn down the sound on the TV, open my windows, and listen to the Daytona 500 live. I also worked at a bar right on the beach for 4 years as well. Brings back memories. Haven't been back since I graduated from college...December of 99. Last graduating class of the century. I think my wife and I will take a visit to Daytona during Marauderville 4.

I'm waiting to read how Marauderboi spanked the "old man" on the racing simulator games. That is a neat place to visit. I'll bet you had fun pullin' the 'Rauder back on to I-4 from US92 on that banked, big, sweeping-corner on-ramp, eh?

It was a lot of fun but on the way back another car kicked up a piece of tire and it got wedged between the head light and the bumper we imediatly pulled over and checked for damage but it buffed out luckly.whew!!

yes there was rather large show if you look at the pic taken from the press box you can see it all in the infield.
