Hey guys, I am looking for a 03-04 MM, and am curious what are some things to look at specifially on these cars? Is there any major item i need to look for? Are there any common issues with expesnsive breakages?

What is the realistic MPG number for the MMs?

Does anyone around Norh Alabama have one they want to get rid of?

Thanks!

cars.com usually has 50-100 listed at any one time, and autotrader.com about twice that. Try limiting to within 100 miles of your zip code and see what you get.

Welcome to the MM site.:D

On a stock Marauder you can average 24 MPH at 2200 RPM approximatley 75 mph.

You can also check Ebay.

I didn't try cars.com, but the others didn't find me one close...

I'm looking though.

So am I to assume the marauder don't have ay major issues?

Didn't say that. Read through the posts in the GARAGE forum. Many members happy they are still covered by the original warrenty, or have paid for an extension.

MY question to others: Have there been recalls?

No recalls but there are some service bulletins out there. One in particular for the rear axels on the '03 MM's.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the site. If there is a MM that interests you, fel free to PM with the VIN so I can run it through Ford's OASIS database.

I get 16-17 mpg all city driving I think, stomping on it whenever I feel like it.

I get about 20 mpg around town and 24 on the road. Check with Ray Pearmond L/M in Huntspatch. Tell them what you want and they will look for you one. Good people down there. Tell them Jeff McLendon sent you.
I've had no major issues and a lot fewer minor issues than most people at work that bought more expensive and supposedly better quality cars since I bought my Mm 2 years ago.(2 BMWs, 1 Mercades, 1 Honda, 2 Toyotas, 1 Nisson all bought new. I know because I take them to pick up there cars at the shop.) I wouldn't trade a skate board for that top of the line Mercades I think the only thing that hasn't been replaced is the left front valve stem cap.

The wife just discovered the higher cost of the maurader, and requirment for 92 octane, so I may have to go with a regular vic LX sport...

The peerman folks say they don't get many in, and couldn't find any either... Cloverleaf said the same... My wife somewhat knows Gary Peerman and the best he could do is a silver 05 GMarque with 20K with a sunroof for about 16 out the door a good deal, but I want black even if it aint an MM...

The other option is an 03 Vic sport in black with 18Kmiles, I think I can get it between 14,500-15,000 out the door based on the quick numbers I discussed with the VW dealer of all places to find a CV.

Wish I could wait a while and find one, but I need somehting as I am selling my Expedition Saturday, and I'll need something to drive next week... I've actually been looking for awhile... I was expecting to find somehting beofore I sold mine...

I've been talking to on of the guys in Nashville, but I think he needs more than I can really afford.

Every MM I've seen local or semi-local was already sold. One local place advertised one for 16,500, and of course it was gone...

If you can find an MM, I don't think you will be disappointed. My wife had some of the same concerns so we went out and took a test drive in both the Crown Vic LX Sport and a Marauder -- back to back, same day. :D

She saw the Blue MM and smiled. She looked at the interior and said emphatically that "This is much nicer". The test drive was the clincher. After 31,600 miles it was worth every penny. Retail now is about $19K I think for an '03. If you can swing it ... do it. :)

As for gas, the Marauder needs 91 Octane minimum. All they sell around here though is 93, 89, and 87 ... so I have to spend the extra 20 cents per gallon. No biggie !!!

Assuming that you will put 50,000 miles on it in 3 years, that's about $500 more over 3 years. Put another way, that's $166.67 per year (or $13.89 per month or about $0.46 per day. You can't buy this much fun for 4 bits a day anywhere.

Of course, I may be a little biased ....

Well, if you can't locate a MM, maybe go with a Crown Vic and slap on a supercharger!?!

You must be physcic... Small bonus, the Vic sport has 239 HP 287 Ftlbs torque...
Whats the difference between the 03 and earlier models???

Last week end it was at $2.53.same station is at $2.67 today. I'm glad work is only three miles away! Besides I use my 93' Vicki as my daily driver and the mileage is pretty good out of it.
