Cost as follows:
3W3Z-6582-AA R Cover $88.10
3W3Z-6582-BA L Cover $88.10
F7LZ-6P067-AA R Coil cover $47.83
powder coating for 3 pcs. $65.00
I chose to get new covers rather than using my own 'cause my car would have been with out covers for too long(2 weeks in this case)
I also at least could have had my own coil cover done.....
and I didn't do the left coil cover 'cause you can hardly see it below the air intake and because it has the 'Intec' plate on it

Beautiful job, Jeff...
You don't realise how huge they are when they're black...I just wish Ford had put the INTECH coil cover on the side you can SEE...

I'm with on the Intech cover piece, seams pointless where it is.

Looks great. I would have left the passenger side coil cover black to match the driver's side. It would also make the passenger side valve cover look less massive. I wonder if the driver's side coil cover with the "Intec" logo on it fits on the passenger side? That would be a cool looking mod if it did.

Another thought: I know Ford has the Ford blue. Does Mercury have a color that is associated with the marque? If so, that might be a good choice for the valve covers.

Yep. Sure were. I know it. Maybe not "gold," but a color right about what anyone would call gold. Saw them myself, a '63 Marauder 'vert. Was a 427 motor, I remember the image in my head, but haven't a word to convey that here. Not copper, not bronze, not gold...ah...Jeeze...anyone? My brain hurts now.

Yes, and no. Yes, please pursue this. No, not that I have seen.
The MM engine bay needs some color, no doubt about it. Everything I see under my hood looks like a Michael Jackson video...Black and white.
Ford has used blue. Royal blue, the color of my drum. There was some color to a Mercury engine bay years ago, see above post.
But, what color comes today? I just don't know.
Jefferson-Mo, great job, some colorful punctiation we need to see under our hoods.
I found your pics before your post, and I was blown away. The visual always outweigh the type. Bravo, my friend. Rather than argue over color, just do it. Add some "see" and see what the possibilities can be.
Thank you.

thanks guys:up:
means a lot
it was more work(to change 'em) than I imagined considering I have access to factory manuals both in books and online.....I just didn't consult the manuals before I started:stupid:--would've saved a lot of time
live and learn, right?
all in all took me about 4-4.5 hours
if I'd read the manual 1st....maybe 2 hours

Oh yeah............in case anyone was wondering(I hope not)
ZERO preformance gain from these
Jeff-Mo,
Well done! I think it looks great and adds some charactor to a somewhat boring stock, engine-bay look.

They were gold back then with black blocks. The 427's had chrome v/covers with alum air cleaner tops and bottoms. The single carb having chrome air cleaner cover
The item that made the Marauder a Marauder was the fastback roof, made it to production along with the Gal.500's in the last 6 month's of 63.

Personally, I like that better. More symetrical and breaks up the vast expanse of red.
Too bad the covers aren't interchangable.
