When people thought you were a cop. I gotta tell you it happens everytime I hit the highway and it never gets old. I have many stories, but my best has to be when I caused a 1 mile backup and no one passed me for about 13 miles because of my sirius radio on the windshild. Ok whos next? :D

You'd think people would get it when they see the "MARAUDER" embossed on the back of the bumper and the large unpolice-like wheels. I have yet (and I've had the car now for over a year now) to have anyone NOT pass me because they think I am an LEO.

No one thinks I am a cop. Probably because there are absolutely NO Marauders seen in WI that are cops. *shrug*

I linke coming up on folks who are obviously speeding at night. Squeeze in right behind 'em :D

It's amazing how some people will go from 85+ to 40 w/o ever hitting their brakes.

Down here in Florida, the FHP have a few to use. SouLRioT can verify this, One time we were coming home on Alligator Alley from Bradenton, and this Porsche was hauling A$$ in the left lane. we were in the right lane doing 80 and he comes up to pass us and slows to where we are bumper to bumper. I suprised him by punching it from 80 MPH to take it up to 100 and get out of the area. I did not want to create or be part of a "wolf pack". He stayed back in amazement.

haha yea, this is fun to do...also had people on the highway come flying up on me, then suddenly they slow down and never pass me. Think my Fuzz buster helps with that a little

In Florida, even if you know it is a Marauder you best be careful...the Florida Highway Patrol uses Marauders, just for fun...:D

I am really suprised that the MM didn't take off more for Police work, or at least for the 3-Letter Agencies.

Nope, it never gets old. We have no Marauder cop cars up here either, but no one, either here or in MA seems to know the difference. It's great on the highway, but trying to find people to race at a stop light is like pulling teeth. I never get to have any fun....:alone:

Your preaching to the choir! I have the same issue here in NY. Once and while I can find a little high speed challenge but stop light action is few and far between

Actually, our agency did "look" at the Marauders when they first came out for use as "stealth vehicles", much the same as FHP is using theirs. What knocked that idea in the head was the MM's strict use of premium fuel and, obviously, the price (car and fuel)! The "bean counters" prevailed........

Had some rich philanthropist donated a few MM's to us (like in Florida's case) we no doubt would have figured a way around the fuel issue!:burnout:

I know what you mean. In Lee County (Florida) the FHP has I think 18 of them. I never see them unless I am riding my motorcycle. I have, however, been the pace car several times on the way to work. The FHP ones are invisible- you wouldn't know until you see the silhouette of flashers on the rear deck, or the trademark antennas. I am sure that my neighbors think I am a cop. I drive the silver Marauder and my girlfriend drives a maroon '06 Taurus. The police here can disappear easily- they have several '05 up Mustangs, a few seized vehicles too like a gold Nissan 350Z, a Corvette and a black Navigator on homey wheels.

Jeez, so many to choose from, I'll just tell the one that I still think is the funniest. This lady asks me in a Wal-Mart parking lot as I'm walking away from my car "Why do people fix up old cop cars?" I threw up my hands and said "Hell should I know? If I see one I'll ask the driver.", and kept walking. She gave me a pissed off look and snorted. Priceless!!

I chose green relpfective inserts cuz they match the paint. They also match the green reflective vinyl on our local sheriffs! I didn't realize it till I followed the wife home while she was driving the MM. When headlights run across the bumber, it sure looks like a sherriff car!

Due to the paint, I don't get too much CVPI effect in the day time. Still, no one will race. But at night, it's way worse that it was stock. No one will pass, no one will race. Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it bites!

And, of course, there's the Marauder FHP thing....

I have a lot of people go to pass then realize I might be a cop and creep up a little to the drivers door slow back down 5 minutes later try again. But the ones not from Florida always kill it they go flying by and when I don't do anything the floodgates are open.

Traveling on I85 in NC towards Raleigh and I'm doing 77mph in the fast lane, pull in behind a Ford p/u, see the driver look in the rearview mirror, the right blinker goes on, he moves over to the middle lane, as I pass him he realizes I'm not a cop.... gives me the one-finger salute, I reciprocate and continue on....

When I am driving on the highway cars will come up on me then slow way down to check me out. Finally they will pass once they determine I'm not a LEO. My car has very dark tinted windows so it is hard for them to see inside. My neighbor suggested I place a blue and red ball cap on either side of the package shelf just to goof with people.

The biggest pain is when I'm cruising and come up on someone in the left lane and they slow down. It amazes me how surprised people become when they see me-- most people just don't pay attention...

Sometimes my dad and I would have to drive about 50 minutes in pairs and he would always wanna follow me so he could watch people slow down. I remember one time he told me I got a tanker to go from 70 to 55. I can remember times where I would get in the fast lane and someone would be attempting to make a pass and half way into it they would slow down and move over. I usually smile at these people as I am passing them. When I first got the car people on the street would be scared too. I remember some lady was crossing the street when I was stopped and covered her face with a book. Many many stories.
