How about $1.10 a LITRE! multiply by 4.5 and your at about five bucks CDN a gallon. That's still about four and a quarter in yank terms. I win! Or loose. Depends on how you want to look at it. Certainly it means no Mauradervilles in Nova Scotia, eh?

Cheapiest I've paid was $2.29 and highest has been $2.82 since I got my Marauder back in 12/05. Regardless of what the cost I will still fill up and drive 2500-3000 miles a month (work). Try having a 06 F-350 diesel with a 38 gallon tank that gets oh about 11-12mpg but that would be my fault for upgrading the intake, exhaust, upgraded Garrett wastegate, upgraded 3-core intercooler with 3.25" boost pips and adding a diesel tuner and running 396rwhp & 751ft-lbs tq at 44psi :D . Usually fill up cost is $70-80 and I just kicked over 4K miles since I bought it in 10/05. I would drive my little beater 95 Satun around but it's just no fun like the Marauder or F-350.

The Chevy LS2 allows either mid or premium grade, the eec will select timing appropriately. Premium is recommended for "highest performance" but mid grade is acceptable and won't cause damage or void the warranty.

Being a cheap SOB by nature I topped off the other day before it jumped again. Must be we've switched to normal gas, 20.8 mpg around town vs the 17.5 I've been getting lately. The spokesperson for the state service station owners association was on the local news being interviewed about the recent spike in gas prices. Stated one of the reasons gas has jumped so much is because the oil companies are transitioning to summer gas from winter blend... give me a break, its because thay can gouge us and get away with it. I can't wait to see what the price is when the "summer driving season" is actually here.

I filled up Elvira for the firts time since October yesterday, at $1.09/L (it's $0.10 a litre extra for 92 octane). Half a tank was $40. Prices are predicted to be $1.40/L by the summer, or $5.30 a gallon. The record here for regular (87 octane) is $1.10/L
From dry, the tank holds 69L. That's $96 a fillup. OMFG. I wanted to drive the Marauder more frequently this summer (I only have 27,000km on it) and do some much needed tooling on the CV, but with those prices, I'll have to ethier drive the CV (which happily accepts 87 octane) or buy a horse. :shake:

Oddly, the price went down here in Halifax from 113.9 for regular to 112.9. Wonder what's up with that? Supreme (or our 91 Octane version of supreme) is at 119.9 per litre. The gas companies are just raking in the cash. Our Premier is going to announce a decision on gas price regulation within the next three weeks. Funny how things go, eh? In 1986 or so, we were all screeming to have regulation abolished becuase pump prices didn't go DOWN fast enough compared to unregulated provinces. Wouldn't mind if it was really supply and demand, but mostly its greed and demand. We need it, they have it, and now they know we'll pay for it. Nice. Wish I could run the dyno business the way banks, insurance companies and now the gas companies do. I'd be rich by the middle of next week.

fun to play with.
Strange how over the past three years, the price in canadian dollars has kept pace EXACTLY with the US, even though every month has brought our dollars that much closer to parity with the US dollar (was 67c US, now 87cUS). I wonder who's pocketing that extra 35% profit from Canadian sales? Obviously, our price should have been getting closer to the US price, not staying the same distance apart. Man I hate getting ripped off. Now, if Reporters were REALLY reporters and not just "repeaters", some newspaper or wire service would have made a heck of a news story here in Canada by now.

When prices started to rise during the winter, someone filed a complaint of 'price fixing' here in Alberta. Of course, no evidence bla bla bla . . .
Have a look yourself. If 'Supply and Demand' are the reasons, check out historical figures on 'Supply' (Finished Motor Gas Inventories) and relate to price at the pump.

Hey Dr. Caleb,
Followed the link, but wasn't sure which subject line was the proper one to peruse. Help?
Hey Master,
It's a link to all the reports since 1988 to present of fuel prices, fuel inventories and price per barrel of crude. It a lot of data to go through.
One day when I was bored, I gathered to all together and compared select bits of it to the price at the pump.
I can see no statistical co-relation between 'supply' and 'demand'. Meaning, when inventories are high, the price at the pump remains steady or falls slightly. When crude rises, the price at the pump rises. When inventories are low, the price at te pump rises.
Basically, the price at the pump rises whenever crude rises, or inventories fall. But we all knew that already. These numbers just show it.
For example, let's go to 'Annual' then 'Petroleum Supply Annual 2004, Volume 2' then 'entire' and click on the PDF. (The .CSV file is the raw data you can import into Excel, make pretty charts with etc.)
Go down to 'Stocks'. This is a list of what refined petrol products are warehoused. The 'Supply'. Compare these numbers monthly to your favourite gas prices website historical price. There is no co-relation that I can find.

Joe, just put some of your yeast slurry in the tank, maybe they could work their way into the infectors and eat all of those residual sugars...:D BTW, I'm am having some Belgian withdrawl. Any chance of a glassware shipment?
I suppose it will run on grain alcohol, but what about all the residual sugars? Can you say Gooey Injectors?

I'll have a few left over after my entries go to competition, they are yours. I am trying to get around to botteling some other. I can ship them, but you'll have to wait for them to condition. You know, the waiting is the hardest part.....

You big tease, making me wait like that.... How long until they are conditioned? Maybe you should keep them until they are ready so I don't stare at the ceiling at night knowing that within 30 paces is a beer of such magnificence that I may defile it by drinking it before its time!!!:bows:

$72.00 to fill 'er up today (Cdn), or $64.00 (USD).
On the bright side, having just driven 250 miles each way today, I can safely say that when I keep it at 70mph, I get 28 mpg(imp. gal). That was the return trip. On the trip out, I averaged about 90mph, and got 21mpg (imp, again.).
Keep 'er slow, and its money in the bank.
Good luck!

I'm hoping that these sky high gas prices will spell the end of the: "It's so cool to drive a HUGE, HEAVY, 4x4, 12 MPG SUV to my office job!"
We have enough single occupant 7000 lb vehicles on the road.
To all who pack these beasts with kids, equipment, etc. ....Sorry

JEEZ...:( .......I can't stand the local news idiots!
They just reported spot shortages of gas at a few gas stations in Wash. DC and Baltimore, Md.
Now we are guaranteed to have big shortages this weekend as all the numb-nut worrywarts with 1/2 -> 3/4 tank run out to 'fill up'.:shake:

It's the weekend. I'm not going anywhere. My fridge is full of beer and I'm drinking it. If you were in the neighborhood, I'd invite you over.
Did get a call from Discover yesterday. Someone is using my wifes card # to buy gasoline. Three fill-ups within an hour. Credit card theft! Boy, do I hate these people. I will go to the ends of the earth to catch these types. No liability for me, but the whole idea of using another persons credit for your personal gain really pisses me off. Probably another thread, sorry.
How do we make these things run on alcohol?

We all gotta invest our 401ks and IRAs into Oil Stocks.
At least this way whenever you buy fuel, you'll feel better knowing that
some of this money is making its way back into your RETIREMENT.
If gas gets to $5/gal, everything is going to stop.
My wife will stop going to work.
I will stop going to work.
Our son will stop going to school.
If it isn't within walking distance, it just won't exist...
We will both need to get 2nd jobs just to be able to afford to commute
and if that's the only reaon we need 2nd jobs, then something is
definitely very wrong in this world...

The threat of a congressional investigation...the oil companies feel the need to appease. 'Course, I can't understand THAT either...these price-gouging investigations never actually go anywhere. Congress makes a big stir, Big Oil grunts and says "yah, alright, we'll lower prices..." and they back the prices down a little...and then the investigation goes away. Go figure.
92 now up to $3.55/gall out here in Honolulu...no end in sight.

Filled up today with Sunoco 93 at $2.799 in Virginia. Our particular area runs a little lower than the rest of Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland for some reason. I must live on a regional pricing zone boundary. :D
That is 30 to 40cts less than here in Ft.Myers Fl.
