Washed my car today at home today for the first time this year (usually goes to the autospa).
When I opened the door to get back in the car (about an hour later), about 2-3 cups of water poured out that small hole in the bottom of the drivers door. I had to swing the door a few times back and forth to get it all out. How is this water getting inside the door? The weatherstripping all looks good. Is there another drain hole that may be clogged? I checked all the other doors, and none of them had water in them.

They tape the drain holes on the bottom of the doors. After painting they do not pull the tape off so it can drain. Money saving idea maybe.

Nobodys weatherstripping is so good that some water won't get inside the door. The drains sometimes get plugged up a little from time to time and need to be cleaned every year or two to keep them funtioning properly. Run a pipe cleaner inside the hole and go around in all directions to feel for leaves or anything else that might move around and plug it up.

Even so, there shouldn't be that much water in the door. Check the wipe seal on the outside of the door against the window glass for losseness (against the glass-it should wipe/seal), cracks, etc.
Run water on the glass. It should 'shed' off that seal, not run down into the door.

Water in the door is expected. Depending on how long the water was accumulating, 2-3 cups is normal. The door enviornment is almost always classified as a wet environment for connetors, etc. The Tarus is one of the worst since the outer panel does not extend above the belt. I have done water testing in that vehicle and water flows down the glass run channel like a garden hose (10 gpm). The door speakers used to rust and had to be shielded from the direct water spray.
My recommendation, any installation you do, expect as much water in the door as outside the door.

I have noticed while watching mine go through the car wash, the poor dude that opens the drivers door at the end of the line always gets his feet wet. LOL
