Hello:

I'm getting excited. Time put away the snow shoes and get the 18's back on. I ordered (thru Tirerack, of course - Thanks Cy!) four 235/50/18 Goodyear Eage F1 GS-DS,-

Replacing my worn Bridgestone Pole Position S-03, which I was very happy with, but it's time to try something different. I got very even wear and alomst 50000 miles out of them.

Those are sweet tires. However, what does having front size tires all around do to the speedometer? How does the car handle with the smaller rear tires?

Also, I'm guessing that you rotate the tires now that you have the same size all around?

The speedometer reading would be 3mph too fast at 60mph (actual travel would be 57mph). I had mine corrected with an SCT tune. IMHO, the handling is improved, because the tires are not as tall, and have a better cornering and traction rating than our OEM's. Two years of spirited driving with 235/50/18 have proven that to me.

I only rotated them front to back every spring, and side-to-side once in the two years. I did not have any issues with uneven or irrgular wear (stock alignment spec's every spring).

Won't your fronts turn faster than the back which would pull the car apart over time?

Other owners & I have noticed that not having larger rear tires does cause the traction control to always want to turn on when accelerating. Just a lil fyi
