I kinda remember an old thread saying 18,000 o3s produced but no one knows '300a /300b breakdown ? Thats suprising with this group ! I would imagine through attrition that the 300a's are getting harder to come by.

I kinda remember an old thread saying 18,000 o3s produced .

The total number of Marauders built in 03 and 04 was just over 11,000. I believe just over 7000 of them were 300a's and the rest gets broken down between the 03 and 04 300b's
There are threads that show the break down if you do a search

This is about as detailed as we can get:

Production numbers for the Mercury Marauder:
2003 - 7839 (328 Blue, 417 Silver, rest black .. 7094)
2004 - 3213 (980 DTR, 997 Silver, 1236 Black)
Total production, 03 and 04 was 11,052

2004:
Black exterior. (As of June 2004):
1059 with charcoal interior, 842 have CD changers, 873 have heated seats.
147 with flint interior, 105 have CD changers, 100 have heated seats.
Dark Toreador Red exterior. (As of June 2004):
565 with charcoal interior, 457 have CD changers, 505 have heated seats.
398 with flint interior, 293 have CD changers, 270 have heated seats.
Silver Birch exterior. (As of June 2004):
525 with charcoal interior, 422 have CD changers, 439 have heated seats.
<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->448 with flint interior, 332 have CD changers, 304 have heated seats.

We're only a relatively small percentage of owners here. In 2003, the Marauder had the same ID as a GM (M75) and we don't have a full list of the production line so any further breakdown in next to impossible.

A thread was made on this not too long ago, Lowest Miles (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25755&highlight=lowest+miles)

This is probably one of the lowest mileage Marauders

My DTR 04' has 180 miles on it and I have her in storage. I drive my Silver 03' and have 18,000 miles on her. Enjoying the best of both worlds right now. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showpost.php?p=359787&postcount=23

Ok, Ive seen this posted a bunch of times...but the numbers really don't do anything for me.

I have a 2004, 300A.

I have charcoal interior, a moonroof, heated seats, a CD changer, and heated mirrors.

So where does my number fit?

If I ever tell people how many of my specific car were built, I use 1 of 1,236.

You take the least common denominator if you're looking for rarity.
You have a black 2004, there were 1235 others like that for 2004 so you have 1 of 1236.

You have a CD changer, 841 others had that too for 2004, so you are 1 of 842.

You have heated seats, 872 others had heated seats for 2004 so your car is one of 873 with heated seats.

So of all cars built EXACTLY like your car, your car is 1 of 842, so far.

What would need to be done to narrow that down would be to find out how many cars built with BOTH heated seats and CD changers, which would further narrow things down. Who knows, maybe all 842 CD changer cars had heated seats which wouldn't change a thing (no pun intended) or maybe your car is the ONLY one with those two... could be anything in between. (especially if you factured in charcoal interior as well, the more items used to narrow down the field, the better)

I got into this 'rarity' fetish a while back in the early 2000s when I discovered either my WS6 or my GTA is a "1 of 170 made" car. (I forget which one, I'd have to dig up the GM documentation I obtained supporting this)

how can an 04 be a 300A , does it have the clock and the trunk release?

At Marauderville III/WDC, Steve Babcock mentioned to me that the Blue MM with Light Flint interior was the rarest combination. He didn't have specific numbers; but from what I have seen it looks like about a 60% Charcoal to 40% Light Flint split. So, I estimate:

Blue MM with Charcoal interior @ 197
Blue MM with Light Flint Interior @ 131

Give or take !!!! :D

Ok...now this makes more sense to me. The way the numbers are posted makes it seem like there were X amout of Marauders made that came with just that option. You can narrow mine down even further beause I have a moon roof. My vin starts with 2MMHM, and I believe those numbers were the moon roof cars I think?

My 04, 300A does not have a full size spare, does not have a gas door release, does not have map pockets on the front seats, and does not have the in dash clock, my clock is in my radio. I guess 2 clocks would be a little redundant, right?

Anyway...thanks for the clarification 3TA.

The rarest denominator of all is the moon roof. My 04 DTR has all the factory options and the roof. Maybe someday we can find out how many 04s were produced with the roof. For now I'm 1 of 980, minus attrition.

Mine has the in dash clock, but it was missing the radio when I bought it. They put a brand new radio in it, probably for an '04, and so I now have 2 clocks. :shake: It is redundant and, more annoyingly, they don't keep the same time; the radio clock seems to run a little faster than the in-dash. I need to find a way to disable the radio clock somehow.....maybe take it in to our electrical shop for a little surgery....
