Does anyone have any experience w/ one of these? I am really wanting to get one, but my funding is becoming short, and I just want to justify the purchase.

Didn't know Sears sold a powdercoating kit. I've heard good things about the Eastwood kit tho. Surface needs to be spotless and you'll need an oven to cure the powdercoat in. You should not use the wife's oven...... or an oven you prepare food in. Also the powdercoating material it's self isn't that cheap. I find it's easier to get a local guy to do my powdercoating, he has all the experience and guarranties his work.. Had some long tube LS1 '99 Camaro headers powdercoated with a high-temp silver and polished (you can see yourself in the finish). Only cost $250.00 and have had them on the car for almost 3 years with no problems.

I didn't think about what it would do to the oven. It would at least smell bad.

Dan, just get one of those Hasbro Easy Bake Ovens to use.

My friend uses the Eastwood kit mentioned in a post above.
They have 2 kits, the basic which he has, and the pro model. The basic kit has held up well and he has coated tons of stuff at my friends shop. Including coating my upper intake last weekend. I coated it with 1 layer of gloss black and one layer of clear to match my turbo kits piping. It looks great... I bead blasted the part to get it very clean before.
You can get the IR lights to cure the parts ffrom Eastwood but your cost will get pretty high. My friend found a old stove at a garage sale or something that the burners were burned out but the oven worked. They stuck it in the back of my friends performance shop. It REALLY stinks. And smokes as well. Ventilation is a must.
I would go eastwood just because I have seen it work. Although I have almost always been happy with Craftsman stuff except their torque wrenches.

9x out of 10 craftsman power tools are a re-package of existing mfg's stuff. Wouldn't surprise me if the craftsman WAS the Eastwood.
