I will pay $200.00 to the first person with our F.I.T. kit to run a 11 second time in the 1/4 mile. It can be an 11.99. JD and Tom, you guys are very close!:burnout:

I think 12.2 with 9PSI is as close as anyone has come.

I have a mis-"F.I.T."

Does that count for anything?

What's with the "incentive"? Hehehe, I know what you mean. I think either one of them would be happy to oblige Greg.

However, this "incentive" appears more like encouragement to me. The purse would reimburse their out of pocket expenses for trying a few more times than they perhaps planned this early in the season.

Greg...Rather than offer a prize, why not offer to sponsor a night at the track for them?

Good luck and best wishes you two.

Any more "incentive" to do this w/o internal mods?

I am at about 2000 feet so when I made my 12.70 pass it was really closer to a 12.20 pass at seal level. I am sure I could of have gone at least a 10th quicker that night if I could have made more then one run. Hell if I cleaned out the trunk and didn't have a full tank of gas I could have gone at least a 10th quicker.
The problem for me is I live at 2000 feet.

Whats the chance this board starts looking at Altitude Correction????????????

Just as soon as my new rear end is in the car, I will be going for that 200 bucks. JD, with his cooler weather will probably beat me to it though:cool: , I am on the road this week, home a week and then away another week. Won't be able to get to the track until April 27th. Best of luck to any of the F.I.T. cars...:D

As for me, it would be an accomplishment just to get to a track, with any reading below 13.0 !! Do i also hear a banner as consolation ??!!!:D

You guys are killing me. Talk about feeling helpless. In Dallas now, coming home for a week. Car scheduled for the 18th (while I am away again) for the Trutrac, axles, Metco CA's stud girdle install. Come home on the 25th and hopefully to the track that week to a test n tune. In the meantime you northern guys are getting the great drag racing weather, where we will start warming up. I just may have to get my car further north just to compete with you JD.....:D

Oh count on it JD;) , I'll be bringing it on and well before November:D. Mid to low 11's will be arriving by MV IV with my new motor at Gainesville. But for now, I will be doing my absolute best to hit the 11's with what I have for now once I get my new posi in. You have a head start on me, but keep your eye in that rear view mirror my brother.:bows:

Greg,

How about making this a little more sporting? Since I got the jump on the axles and differential install over Tom, maybe we can add some time qualifiers to this challenge.

Here's what I was thinking to keep this simple: The F.I.T. owner who brings home the closest two timeslips under 11.99 seconds in the quarter earned on any one day, up until May 15th, wins the cash. After May 15th, the first guy to cough up a 11.xx second timeslip takes your money.

Any objections? How about from the rest of the F.I.T. owners?

JD, let's make it until Memorial day. Not to complain, but I will be out of town on business from May 4th until the 20th. Other than that it, I like the idea.

Joe, with your engine it would be a done deal.

I'm thinking the two-slip challenge is open to all F.I.T. owners as of and up until Memorial Day. Slap one on May 29th, head out to the track and take it from us amateurs.

Ah come on Joe....Just go for it;) . Like JD said, you'd be a shoe in with your set up.....I'll have to show up at Baltimore and put some vaseline on your tires before you ran to give us a chance.

Heck, I just dropped over a grand on my rear-end. Do I hear two-fifty? Not to belittle your expense, but that isn't so bad. Try buying an entire rear end for a 35 spline axle set up like I just did for one of my cars. You'll end up spending well over three times what you've just spent on your Marauder rear :)
