Well, as I found out I had strep yesterday and had to be home today for that 24 hours period and since I couldn't sleep and since the weather was very nice, I decided it would be a good day to take the winter wheels/tires off, paint the calipers, and put the stock wheels/tires back on.

Took a total of about 3 hours and I did 4 coats of caliper paint on each caliper. I was not sure about going with the red, but I really like it and the paint turned out pretty nice.

Here are a couple of pictures:

The red is nice and bright in person and really stands out against the wheels, the silver body color, and tinted windows. I am hoping to finally get to use the new Porter polisher this weekend and get some scuffs of her, use a little swirl remover, and get a couple coats of Zaino Z2-Pro on her. Also want to get the wheel wells washed up. Then all I will have left for spring cleaning is the engine compartment.

Also, here is the baby's new car seat she gets to use once she turns a year old:

First, your did a great job. Second, red looks awsome on the SB.

By the way, can a dealer refuse warranty work on the breaks if you paint them? I am avoiding to paint mine because of it.

I agree...Great color combination. Silver birch, polished chrome, a dash of red and black...Awesome.

It is the Dupont Caliper paint kit. Purchased at O'Rileys. I used a black kit when I had my Accord and decided I wanted to try red this time. The black on the Accord held up quite nicely. It took up to the 3rd coat with the red before the caliper metal was getting covered and the 4th coat topped it off. And with the bigger opening between the spokes on the Marauder wheels, it should be pretty easy to wipe down each time the car is cleaned.

It comes with a spray cleaner, small pint can of paint, stir stick, masking tape (if you want to use it, I didn't), and paint brush. And by the 4th coat no brush marks. Hit it with the heat gun a little bit after the 4th coat to help it dry since it was kind of cool out this morning. I just sprayed the caliper down with the cleaner and moved to the back on and sprayed it down. Went back to the front and sprayed it again and wiped off the cleaner with a rag and did the same to the back. I painted first coat on the front and then first coat on the back. Then just alternated front and back, on one side, until 4 coats were done. Heat gun for a little bit and put the wheels on. Repeat on other side.

Will work for now until I go with an upgraded brake kit, most likely the TCE kit with red powder coated Wilwood 6-piston calipers and black rotor hats.

Oh yeah, and why do I like the silver? Hard to tell in the pictures and driving down the road, but the car is actually dirty. Was driven in the rain last week and this past weekend and haven't gotten a chance to clean it. Then again, it is supposed to rain here on Thursday anyway.
