Whoever said to check the fuses, ding ding ding. You were correct. Port 16 (I think, might be 15) keeps blowing the fuse. It runs the VOP power steering, roof console, Auto mirror, compass, Climate control and reverse lights to name a few. It's one of those with a bunch on one circuit.
So I narrowed it down to it blowing whenever the reverse lights engage. If the reverse lights don't go on, everything works fine.
Anyone know what's up?

I am a complete lamen when it comes to wiring. But I would replace both bulbs first. See if that does anything. (Although I doubt it will, you never know...)
Then if that doesnt work, unfortunately you will need to trace the wires as far up the car as you can. From back to front. I have never looked at the loom/harness to see how bad it will be to trace it. Just try to find a place where maybe a screw pierced the wiring or something.
Have you had stereo work done recently...????

Need to find out where the backup switch is, might be on the steering column or the shifter. Trace the wires from there. Also if you've had any work done recently, check for bare / loose wires in that area. And check the wiring harnesses in the trunk.

I had a new head unit installed last Nov. The shop that did it was a chop shop. I've had her back 6 TIMES from the first install, but that horror story is a whole thread unto itself. :mad2: :fire: The only extra I did was disconnect the factory sub last thursday. The output from the new head unit was too much, so it gave a hum through the sub.:(
I guess I'll play with the lights for now, and if that don't get her,
ugh:puke:

I'd start with the wiring they did for the radio install....

Unplugged and replugged the MLP(?) connection. Worked fine after.
You know how it is, sometimes you disturb something and it just needs futzing to fix it.:D
