I'm going to the JC Whitney Car Show Sunday,April 27th. I'm also a member of the Il.Chapter of Ford Truck World and they've talked me into showing my Expy in the Stock Truck class. It'll be in LaSalle,Il. ,FREE Admission, there'll be cars, trucks, motorcycles and who knows what else and it should last 'till evening. It's also free to show your vehicle, maybe we'll get some MM's there to balance out the SS's. Hope to see you there. Uncle Lar

I left at 6AM,and unfortunately my cable company does't carry the channel. Had a good time at the show,no Marauders were there,no SS's either. I believe around 300 cars, trucks and bikes were shown. There was also a bunch of guys there with racing lawmmowers, some were really cool, one even had a 550cc Kawasaki bike motor and trans. One lady showed her 53 Mercury Sun Valley,Mercury's version of the Ford's with the front half of the roof panel made of tinted glass,it was a real sharp car. I can't wait for next years show.
For you Chicago area guys MotorSports Unlimited was there taping for a future broadcast.

I don't think they made the Sun Valley in 53. First year was 54. This was also the first year for the OHV engine replacing the flathead.

If she had a 53 SunValley, she has a very rare car.

I think the last year for the Sun Valley was 55, while the Crown Vic version was built into 1956.

jerrym3,you are correct,it was a 54. And it was sweet, very pale yellow body with the metal half of the roof a medium-darkgreen,almost matched the glass roof tint. She parked next to areal nice Turquoise and White 56 Crown Vic,they sure made a pretty pair.
