Well I have a new one for ya!!:help:
I was on I-95 just south of St. George, SC and had my cruse on at about 75 MPH in the right lane. Got in some slow traffic and had to kick it off and pass a few cars and moved back over at about 70 MPH and hit the "Resume" button and the car promptly went ZOOM!!
The transmission kicked down to 3rd...I think and the throttle went WIDE OPEN....FULL BOOST for about a second before I hit the brake!!:argue:
The cruise came off and I turned it off with the switch and back on then re-set the speed and all was well....except for the stain in my seat!!:censor::eek:
What the heck caused that to happen?? If I had been close to someone I would have crashed into them...SCAREY!!
The cruise worked fine from then on but I was ready if it hadn't!!:shake:
Ideas anyone??

Your big thumb hit the accel button at the same time.

The thumb would have had to stay on the button. That's the nice thing about modern cruise controls: if the speed difference is small-ish, the resume function accelerates more gradually.
Yep, this is an interesting one...

Boost backed up into vacuum cruise controller due to sticking PCV valve.

Ok, then, maybe black_03 finally hit that switch he found and it made Jacks car act up?:coolman:

You were going up hill and the transmission downshifted causing your Marauder to accelerate.

Like I just posted in anotrher thread...Sorry, I have little to no advice for a one-time event. Replicate the problem, and it may help us all narrow down our suggestions.

Interesting thought...
Does the Marauder cruise control use vacuum in any way like the older systems?

I had a 77 OldsmoBuick Riviera that used to do that .....
Nothing like "button" activated secondaries on a Quadrajet.

Damn Tom......I never thought about the "Steelie"!!!! :shake:
Actually it was on flat road and the speed difference was about 5 MPH.....Have done this a Zillion times and the acceleration is very moderate back to pre-set speed.......This time it took off like a rocket!!:burnout:
It may never happen again and that will suit me but on the other hand this car never ceases to amaze me!!:shake:
You don't recon she's posessed do ya??
