Does any one have pics of powdercoated upper intake and cam covers (both the same color)? Sending mine out and was thinking of getting them both the same color.

Was thinking of doing the upper intake and cam covers in Ford red to match the front and rear calipers. Wanted to know if it would be "too much". Also was going to powdercoat the inside of the upper intake to smooth it out.

That was my plan too. I think it would look great. Red's not my color of choice, but it's good one none the less.
I'd say go for it!

This may not be what floats your boat but it's as close as I can come.

Beautiful work. I hate to ask the price tag, and did you use your original covers?

I got a quote of $200.00 for the upper intake and $150.00 per cam cover.

Why 'Smooth out' the intake? I thought is was better to have a rough surface for air intake...Now exhaust, smooth as can be is best. Or am I missing something?

You are correct. Keep a little turbulence going, prevents flat spots.

Smooth finishes allow air to move easier meaning more air in the cylinders. That's why you port and polish intakes/heads. Turbulent air mixes fuel better though.

The valve covers were about $260.00, the upper intake, coil covers and
coolant pipe about another $300.00. I could have had them done a little
cheaper but I chose "show chrome".
The Valve covers originally came from Petrograde,
The coil covers originally came from 2003MIB
The upper intake originally came from The LoganMeister's #2
car, now owned by Buckwheat
That's what this site is all about, good people helping each other
