I just received a letter from my dealer. It says that Brown's Lincoln-Mercury of Fairfax, VA is closing this Friday after some 29 years in business.
What a shame. Brown's has been very good in servicing my Marauder and my son's 2001 Cougar. I have even mentioned the excellent service that they have provide over the years. Now what do I do. The closest L-M dealer is really the pits and I have avoided them at all costs.
I wonder what the bigger picture is that caused them to pull down the L-M shingle since they had the best reputation in this area.
Anybody using Ford SVT dealers for their MM servicing?? I have one of those within 3 miles.

Doesn't matter about being an SVT dealer as long as they treat you right and have a good reputation. I take my Lightning to a non SVT dealership for normal maintainance, aches and pains. Works for me.

Howzabout finding out who the machanic was who worked on your car. He will have to get a new job and prolly be local. You could simply request his service.

I only take my vehicles to Safford L/M in Silver Spring and Acadmey Ford Sales in Laurel which is the dealership I used to work at so I know they will take good care of me and have been in busy for over 44 years so they must be doing something right.

Since Brown's L/M is going away, going to drop by Cherner L/M in Tyson's Corner. Anybody have any feedback on them?

Think Browns will be more inclined to do "on the fringe" warranty work since they are closing? ;)
I've never dealt with them, but seem to have heard good things. It's a shame a dealer with a good rep is closing up, places like that are safe havens usually, a shame to see it go.
