03 stuck in park ..whats up w/that? help!!

had the car almost a month ,went to 7-11 ,wont come out of park w/out being real agressive w/shift button , makes a click or slight pop when I am able to shift . anyone had this experience,.whats the plan? thanx:help:

I beleive there was an earlier thread concerning this problem.

The shift cable may have to be adjusted.

You did have your foot on the brake pedal, it must be depressed to shift.

Wasn't there a thread about a burned out brake/tail light causes this to happen??:confused:

Look in your owner's manual and it may have something about a trans interlock for non-functioning bulbs!!:bows:

the brake on off switch isnt working. turn the key to ascessory position....put the car in neutral then start it and shift into gear from there. check to see if your brake lights work. if they dont its probably the boo switch. a very simple repair. it is attached to the brake pedal

thats it alright ..just to let us know a bulbs out the shifter becomes a bit messy til you figure why then makes good sense!!

would that also make ck. eng lite/code come on ? definetly no brk lites now and driving today when I hit 80 mph ck. lite came on .this car has 25k mi. w/optima bat ,bassani x-pipe ss muffs . thanx
