Here's a new one (I think) for you guys. I just changed my own oil today and noticed something peculiar about the front of the MM. It seems further down from the grille, on line with the fogs lights there are some vertical slats with an open rectangular area. It looks as if Ford should have had a screen there, instead because it is open, I must have had many pebbles, stones, etc. fly through at highway speeds and really dinged up the radiator. Luckily nothing ruptured but for a car that is almost 4 years old that radiator is beat up.

Anyone else have a radiator that is pelted?
Also is your front opened or screened?

Been there - done that. Search on "lower grill".

I posted a mod for this problem. The thread was "Lower Grill Mod".

Hope it helps.

I've dona at least 10 of 'em.
I got a DVD we made at the SSM picnic when we did MarauderMarc's lower grill mod.

I went a little furthere when I did the lower grill mod. Buy 2 more pieces of the same gutter guard material. All 3 pieces will cover the lower grill and the large space behind the front facia. You'll see it when you get under there.

Here are some pics:

With the lower grille mod in place, was just wondering has anyone had to replace their radiator due to debris coming in through the upper grille?
It seems some junk has flown through that area as well.
Has anybody addressed this or do we just have to live with it?

A heat exchanger in that area usually solves the problem nicely!

Actually it is the air conditioner condenser being beat up rather than the radiator.
