Got mine in December. Followed the bedding/break in procedure, and haven't had any complaints. These things rock! I only wish I'd done it sooner.

No fitment problems here it's a snug fit. But that just makes it look more tasty ;)

I had to have the drivers wheel rebalanced due to the wheel weights hitting the caliper. No fault of Baers, just a coinsidence. I removed the weight and drove over to my favorite tire shop and all was good.

Otherwise, I am a very happy customer. It's like a supercharger for the brakes!

I got mine from Trilogy Motorsports, as they are a Baer brake dealer. No fitment problems at all. You will need "low profile" tape weights to clear the calipers.

Mine did not come with braided lines. My calipers were.... I dunno what color they are! Here:

Nope. I figured I was in this deep with a major upgrade, why skimp out on a set of SS lines.

They might look a little crappy. About an hour before the pics, I wiped them down with a wet rag to get the brake dust off. Like most brake rotors, they clean up well after the first stop.

SS braided brake lines are available from our friend and vendor Todd@TCE. Dennis also has them, and may be a reseller of the TCE product.

I used the TCE lines on my KB#1x and I was very pleased with them. Kenny Brown only offered front kits, not the back, and none of that is available anymore. Look up TCE here in the vendor forum, or, give Dennis a call at 904.276.5003.

ARGH! Dangit! Must resist urge to spend money!!

Heheh, no seriously brakes are probably next in line for me...but just got new tread so I think for the rest of the season I'll stick with stock stoppers.

Still I'll monitor this thread...nice pics charlie

I like mine, although I didn't do the install. Still no problems.Kind of a pain
breaking them in or seasoning. Which ever you like to call it.

Ditto, Trilogy Mosports, no braided hoses, calipers are dark grey/gunmetal satin kind of color.

These have saved my car from itself, or saved my car from me, not sure which. These will leave you hanging from the seatbelt, do it. Short of the Supercharger, this was THE best money I spent on this car....on ANY car to date.

does the baer kit just use the same style PBR calipers we currently have or am i missing something? it looks like you get 14" rotors, relocation bracket, and duplicate calipers that have Baer on them... for over $1000?

we dont have pbr calipers. our calipers are cast iron....these are aluminum twin piston calipers with better slides....and fit larger pads.

I have the BearClaw kit on my #1x, and stock OEM calipers on my #3 MM. I've had both apart, and know what's inside.

Yes, they are similar, as all dual piston calipers appear similar in a very generic sense. But, this is like saying the Marauder is similar to a Crown Vic. They are from the same generic Panther family, but are not the same car.

If the cost of the Baer upgrade seems a bit pricy, there a half dozen choices available now that improve braking power, and use the OEM calipers. I've got the four corner EBC rotor/pad/SS line kit from Reinhart on my #3, and I love it. It was well under 1000 bucks, installed.

Thats an interesting coincidence, my Marauder got the Baer break treatment all the way around, installed for well under $1000 as well. That also included the Kenny Brown Brake lines as well.

OK, well my reference of PBR was generic. I havent had the need to take the calipers off yet, so i dont know whats there, but do we have a single or a dual piston front caliper stock?

OK, well my reference of PBR was generic. I havent had the need to take the calipers off yet, so i dont know whats there, but do we have a single or a dual piston front caliper stock? Now we're getting closer to better answers, thanks for asking again.

The PBR and Baer calipers are very similar, because PBR makes the caliper for Baer to Baer specs. Thus, retail pricing is very close between the two as well. Replacement pads can be selected from the aftermarket offerings for the C-5 Corvette. BTW, Baer does not make their own rotors, but sub-contract that to their specs from an outside source, I know not who. About two years ago, Baer went through a bad batch of rotors, but they took care of their customers nicely. Good company, good rep.

Yes, the stock OEM Marauder front calipers are dual piston, or "twin pots" as some like to say. The rears are single. At first, when the Marauder came out in early '02, we were told that the brakes came from the Lincoln Limo Towncar parts bin. However, later in the year when the '03 300B came out along with the rest of the '03 Panther framed products, all of them now shared not only in the improved frame, but the same brake parts too.

I've looked them up at my parts department, and they are all crossed referrenced with Towncars, limo, GMs, CV taxi and PIs. Good for us, in the aftermarket choices.

It's basically a solid braking system and I could live with it, but as we accelerate quicker than any of the other Panther applications, we need to decel quicker, and many of the brake options we have today and well suited for that. If down the road you consider a power-adder, a brake upgrade would be an important mod to consider, and IMHO, mandatory.

Hope this helps, carry on gents.
