does faulty brake off/on switch produce a code

howzit freaks,
anyone have this issue w/ bad boo switch causing a chk. eng lite to come on @ 80 mph or have any idea why this occured. car has 25k mi. ? thanx for the help!!

only during a key on engine running test. will not cause the engine light to come on.

should have mentioned yesterday it would not come out of park so checked to see no brk. lites after posting here to learn about the boo switch as culprit when both brk. lites are out versus just one bulb out or whatever. so today after using the method in manual for getting out of park till Monday when a switch is available the check eng lite comes on today @80mph weird!!.

the koer test is used when checking for codes with a scan tool. so if a faulty boo switch is present it will only set a code when this test is performed. otherwise no... the boo switch will not set off the check engine lite. i remember your problem...im the one who told you how to get out of it... ;) the engine lite and the boo switch have nuthin to do with each other....

bigtime thanx ! ever had chk lite come on when reaching certain mph like this one did yesterday when I hit 80 it illuminated rightaway? weird episodes like this a few more times and this 25k miles mm will need a new home ..1 car has to be reliable or to me just more american junk.
dont get me wrong I love this car but cant continue dealing w/issues constantly and it appears from what I am reading thru this forum these cars have a number of malfunction issues that should have been adressed @ final check before sale . drives me way past crazy when having to confront this stuff on a 25k mi. car of any make /model .. ok off the horse ,still in luv but she is trying my patience w/regularity . going to dealer this morning and will update . thanx again punisher!
