Better get my digs in now....
We will not stoop to their level. So, in order to swing this thread into a more diplomatic and educational direction...
1) Son, you are a guest in our house. Your youthful spirit and bravery with your pics and post were entertaining. Time you started behaving like a guest.
2) As car guys, we celebrate the diversity of ownership of all car owners and enthusiasts. Yes, we have our favorites. Yes, we have FRIENDLY competition. At the end of the day, we are CAR guys first, Marauder guys 2nd. (BTW, guys means everyone, ladies too.)
3) I know you have been indoctrinated with Impy propaganda. I encourage you to open your eyes and mind to the huge diversity of roadworthy machines out there.
4) There are many reasons a Marauder buyer owner would choose the MM over an Impy. a) some Marauders are still in warranty, b) relationship to mustang, c) handling, d)18's instead of 16's wheels (polished instead of painted, also) e) collector value (fewer MM's made) f) regard for FLM, g) resemblance to CURRENT LEO vehicles h) fewer acres of dashboard, i) stealthier recognizability j) better leather k) etc.etc.
5) Most Marauder owners have owned many other types and styles of cars and have come upon the Marauder as a wonderful mix of practicality, drivability (who am I talking to, you can't even drive yet), luxury, and speed. Not to mention the added bonus of 'What the hell was that?!'
6) Car guys can be resourceful folks. You're a bit young to be tossing money and price issues around. Marauder for 16K plus 6K will eat your Impy for lunch and come back for seconds. That's only 22K. Cheap for a 12 second car that can go around corners if you ask me.
As for me, an Impy can outrun me on the quarter, but I'll top ya and leave ya on the highway and pass ya on the on ramp. Oh yeah, and I'll be doin' it on plusher leather, in a quieter cabin with a nicer radio.
Play nice or go home.
Love and Kisses,

Oh yeah, that our cars are more expensive because they are newer and better.
Damn - I wish I had known that before. I coulda had a 7-year old car with 93K on the clock that may or may not last another 50K, instead of my nice shiny newer better one.
Hmm. I guess having the money to afford this car really sucks. I'll have to go get fired from my job or something.

Jealousy is so ugly.
Why did we spend so much money? Cause we bought NEW cars, well most of us anyway. Generally, young man, a BRAND new car will cost more than a 10 year old model. It's simple economics. Let's not even get started about parts! We all know Chevy stuff is cheaper to get.
Have a nice life!

the 94-96 Ipmy's are a dime a dozen, I see them all over the place. Before I bought my Marauder back in 12/05 I had only seen TWO Marauders on the road!!! I had a chance to buy a 96 Impy SS with 62K miles, mint condition with some custom work for 18K....but I went with a 2004 Mercury Marauder with 40K miles and paid 22K because overall the car rubbed me better.
Merc6 can back me up on this, we were running faster than 2 guys that had their Impys out when the CAM members went to test and tune day at a local track. I was running faster with less mods :banana2: (k&n drop-in filter and rear exhaust delete from h-pipe back) than the Impy guys that had full intakes, full exhaust systems, etc etc. Don't get me wrong any car and beat any other car any given day, but a win is a win and time slips speak and my times say I was faster.....k, thanks, bye :D

I actually like think the Impala SS it is a nice car. I prefer the looks of the Marauder, and the fact that I'm big on Ford well I'm happy with my ride :D But we all have nice rides, friendly rivalries are fun as long as everyone can take the little jabs and what not that come along with it. Like mentioned the reason the Marauder costs so much is because it's about 10 years newer. What is nice about the Impala is it has been around longer so it has a larger aftermarket not to mention there are more Impala/Caprices on the road so aftermarket companies are more willing to develop mods.
This will get fun in one moment. :D

I'm not using these numbers as 100% fact, just a reference point. We have had Marauders run 14's stock and I am sure that Impala SS's have run 14's stock. But stock for stock they are not far off, so the 2-3k estimate is way off base. As far as cost of mods yeah your right, but whats your point? I don't think anyone here bought a Marauder because its the cheapest way to go fast. Anways I have seen the Impala and caprice guys at towers, we should have a Marauder and Impala day if everyone is up for it. It would be nice to have a gathering of American Muscle sedans.:burnout:

Thats true, but I wish we had more n/a potential. What kind of times are you all getting for a good H/C/I combo, 12's or so? Our fastest n/a marauder is still in the 13's and I dont see that changing anytime soon without some serious coin being thown down. On top of that to it is cheaper to go faster n/a in the impala. Not sure about with a power adder but I'm sure it is also.
It's funny GM, Ford, and Chrysler have all come out with their Muscle Sedans just not at the same time. Chevy needs to get a RWD Impala SS out, Ford needs a new Marauder or a Cobra vic, and Mopar is good for now. Muscle sedan wars..........One can dream. :D

Though my car is stock, for under $1,000 I can get it to run better et's than an SS. I would rather toast em from 50mph + on up though..........
Lets look at some other catogories, since anyone can build any car to go like stink with a little know how and imagination...................
Handling- Marauders don't have to break for turns........SS not the most nimble big car in the world
Comfort- Marauders seats are way more comfortable than an SS.........Standard ammenities and options are much better in a Maruader also....Heated Seats, Trunk Org. Leveling rear susp. for towing, sunroof Chrome 18"wheels...........
Styling- SS has none save for some decent wheels....Nuff said
Sound- As much as we ***** about the Marauder Stereo, it still sounds much better than the SS.
Same goes for the motor........ Nice pipes on that SS BTW lol
Reliability- What do you think
The big one for me....... Don't see many Marauders in the Ghetto.......... See loads of colum shifting SS's though (maybe a few 96's sprinkled in too)
We can pee on each others tree all day, but I think this post pretty much sets the records straight.

Irregardless of what's better in whatever category, I think the point is that we bought our Marauders because we like them and WE think they're better. Also, the SS guys bought their SS's because THEY like them, and think they're better.
What matters is that we like ours, and you like yours. Good 'nuff? You can pass around ETs, statistics, whatevr you want all day long, and I'm not going to drop my Marauder just because some SS guy whines "Mines better than yours".

I hate to say it but the little guy asked for it. He did what should not have been done...in joking fun or seriously. Maybe next time he will remember.

and yes that is me :)
First off, it looks like you bashed a Black Caddilac DTS, Secondly How old are you that you are playing with a Pinata???, Finally, That Pinata Should have been filled with a Razor and some scissors you can Shave off that Knappy Greasy looking thing you call a Hairdo off your head and then lend it to Grandpa with the 1985 mullet that thought this stupidity of a Marauder Pinata was a good idea in the first place.

Now I have seen it all. Got dist by a loser in a mullet and a dork with Jerry Curls. This might be why I didn't buy a 96 SS when I had the chance. Too many losers driving them.

Here is a link to the et page for Impalas

You might wanna look at class 6, stock heads and cam class with 8 cars in the 12's.:D
Impressive, looking at the modded head cam you have 2 in the 11's but most are in the 12's which is what I expected.
It is funny how no matter what car forum you are on all enthusiasts will have a similar reaction to these types of threads. However if this post had not been your first post and you had been a member a while and it was known the friendly joking rivalry thing, it would not have exploded.

Methinks this thread has about run its course...
MARAUDERBEATR, you're welcome to hang out here, but there's something you should remember: insulting a man in his own house is not the best way to introduce yourself.
