Well, today I represented my longest standing client in court. That's my mother. She got a ticket for running a red light.

We pleaded out the ticket. No points and a $75 fine. I think that's a good result, given that this would have been a 3 point ticket and would have killed her insurance rates.

Anyway, I let my Mom drive me home from Court. After that ride, I am beginning to think I should have asked the Judge to suspend her license! :D

Kiss your parents everyday! I love my Mom. She rocks! I miss my Dad!

Have a great day everyone.

Your a good son. That might not be a bad idea,
If you think she is at risk.
I miss my dad too!

Nearly had to fistfight gramps to get his keys. It was time. He's gone now. RIP.

Thankfully my Mom hung her own keys up when it was time. I wish Dad would. He doesn't drive nearly as well as he used to, and the traffic gets worse every year here.

You should be ashamed of yourself ... making your mother stand in court and setting a record of the longest, too !!!

That's a tough call my friend. Certainly every good son wants to defend his mom from any person, place or thing that threatens her happiness but there will come a time when responsibilities to safe and secure society should outweigh those good intentions and are probably the best thing for her safety as well, it's just she won't see it that way.

We had to take the car away from g'ma a while ago. I have a coworker that said his family took the battery out of their grandmother's car.

When it's time, it's time.

Too funny Marty!

Last summer we took my mom's car away. She is 86. On her good days she could still drive and she had good judgement. I was the only one of the 10 remaining children to fight to keep it. I knew she wouldn't drive if she could not, but taking the car/license away is the last step before the home for most of our parents.

They finally played the money card about how much it would save her. I volunteered to make the lease payments, etc even if the car never left the driveway, just to keep her with the illusion of freedom.
Unfortunately, living in Florida with her and everyone else in New Hampshire, I lost out.

Great story Marty!!

Back in the 80's my Grandmother was in her late 70's and needed to renew her SC driver's license and she couldn't pass the vision test!!:argue: They denied her a license but when she appealed and asked for a permit to only drive a half block down the street to visit an old freind on a daily basis (she couldn't walk that far)....THE DOT IN SC GAVE HER FULL DRIVING PRIVILEDGES!!!! :shake:

During the next year she had 5 wrecks putting several folks in the hospital but believe it or not NONE WERE HER FAULT.....GO FIGURE!!??

She passed away the following year with a still valid license.

I want to die like my mom, in her sleep; not like the terrified passengers in her car as she drove 'em over the cliff. ;)
