Insects that is. Comes with the warm weather I guess.
Went for a cruise last night and when I went to work this morning I noticed the the front of the car was pasted with the damn things. Other than bug and tar remover, does anyone have any tips for removing their splattered bodies?

I'll give you a serious answer (imagine that?)

Get bugs OFF THE CAR...no matter what wax. etc. you use. I travel a lot and when I get to my destination, at minimum, I use a wet towel (from the hotel, etc.) and get them off. If a hose is available...use it. Be sure you get the backs of your mirrors as well.

Believe me...you'll be glad you did it. I used to live in FLA and the boys down there can tell you about the dreaded "love-bugs"...they are murder on paint.

thanks TAF. You're right, they cause major damage to the paint ....as well as the headlight covers

Concentrated car wash. It will most likely do a number on your coat of wax, but I think it's probably less harsh than bug/tar remover. When it's clean, rewash the front end with the regular concentration and apply a fresh coat of wax. Repeat ad nauseum until the bug season's over.

A quick detailer solution (Like Meguires Quick Detailer) may be a better answer as opposed to rinsing a black car off with water, which will leave spots out the ass. It's quick and easy (you know how I like that :D ) to use and does not harm your wax or leave swirl marks.

Every one that said wax....right on.

Right on on BEFORE the bugs that is. I have always pasted the crap out of the nose of my cars. I have occationally done it as much as once a week. The heavy wax is the trick to no stick. They always wash off easily. Helps with small stones and tar as well. Wax the crap out of the lenses as well., and plate if you got one.

Turtle Wax bug and tar remover, removes bugs ,tar, and tree sap and leaves a deep wax shine. It works for me. Also water will not leave spots on your car as long as you wipe it down.

Thank you for that Menace. I couldn't believe that there was a question about using water....I'll take water spots over "bug-innerds" eating up my paint anyday.

I agree with TAF and CRUZTAKER wash them off ASAP and apply extra wax to the effected surfaces. John

Or, you can move to California where there are no bugs.

CRUZTAKER, you actually wax the crap out of your lenses, won't that make the lenses look foggy or something ? Windex works for me.
