I have this idea of adding on an extra emblem (S55, Cobra, whatever tickles your fancy) to the right side of the grill...kind of like the new mustang cobra's. I saw a camaro ss with this treatment and it looked really slick.

I'm not asking for anyones opinion on the idea. Rather I would like to have some input as to how to attach it.

You could use double sided emblem adhesive, but that can't last long when attached to only a few 'rungs' on the grill.

Any ideas?

How about using an electrical "zip tie"
You could attach a zip tie to one of the teeth in the grille and then "glue" your badge to the zip tie.

Or you could glue the zip tie to the badge first then attach it the grille.

I believe zip ties come in different colors also.

Let us know how you make out :)

Good idea, but wouldn't that be subject to slippage after a while? It's almost like you'd need a custom metal bracket made that connects to something behind the grill. :(

Wishful thinking. I'll find a way...somehow.

Tough if you don't want to affect the appearance of the grille if the emblem is removed.

A good bet would be to epoxy a small metal bracket behind the "rungs". That way it can be removed with minimal damage. Drill holes in the bracket to attach either the emblem or another flat surface it can tape too.

The cable ties will probably work if pulled tight enough. You could even put indents on the rear side of the rung to allow the cable tie to sit in the rung a bit thus preventing slippage.

But it may rub overtime and affect the finish on the other side...

I would put a notch in the backside of the grill rungs so that a bracket could be mounted there with no slippage. You can then run a small bolt through the grill opening into the bracket.

How do the multiple badges on Cadillac grills attach?....just a thought.

This was another car that got my attention for this idea too.

Use small L brackets.

Stick a tiny L bracket to the side of a rung. The leg of the L should stop just short of the next rung. The leg should also be flush with the face of the rung. Add these to each next rung till big enough. Use emblem tape to attach the L to the rung sides. Now, Use emblem tape to stick the badge to the rung/L surface thus mounting the badge and tying the L's together and having a flat surface.

All would be removable with the fishing line trick followed by denatured alcohol.

we'll, the best way to do this is to use gorilla glue and glue a bolt to the back of what you want, and then use a washer to screw it to where you want.

PS it looks better on the badgeless......
