This one surprised even me. I thought that blue MMs started after 658000. This one may have the 300A stuff. I might have to see this one for myself.
I will PM you the report.

Looks interesting. Not sure about it having the "A" stuff. It looked like the small spare, no clock in the dash, and it did have traction control. Looks like the previous owner had the dash painted blue and also got some SS (or decal) inserts. The "DUB" emblem does not work for me

Someone should check it out in person!

Thanx for showing the extra pics. I noticed that the subwoofer is missing, too. I guess 300Bs started earlier than I figured.

DUB emblem and painted take-off pieces are typical and indicative of a young previous owner. Careful?

Dub emblem may also incate this thing rode on 20's or better for some time. Mileage will be off if it did. Brake wear may also be excessive if it rode on 20's or better. Factor in a carfixer alignment as first cost of ownership.

The blue is NOT a repaint (at least not a color change). Factory blue overspray exists in all the right places (easy to tell in trunk).

The blue painted take off plastic pieces WILL crack and chip. I would count on replacing them. The places where 'dot matrix' was painted over blue will do all right since those pieces are aluminum to begin with.

Factor that replacement cost (now or later) into your buying decision.

That my full report, back to you.....

The blue trimmed dash doesn't do it for me. I think the OEM dot matrix gives a much more classy and balanced look. JMHO.

An excellent point, Brian. I can, however, see the subwoofer support bracket. This thing probly had a system. Make sure trunk still closes tight and battery terminal are not mangled and defaced. I will continue to examine pictures....

There's extra wires going into the trunk on the right side. Did this thing have strobes?

At this point my money says former 'Ghetto Cruiser'. Plus, We know where off-lease only is. I'm thinking Riviera beach Ghettomobile.

More like Detroit Michigan. It came from up there. And you are correct about the paint. It is factory.

Yeah I saw this one a little while back and magindat covered all the points that went through my mind. Painted blue interior, hacked up trunk, DUB emblem. I doubt the person corrected the speedo and I would be very worried about the way it was driven.

I think you should pass on this one, too many questionable areas plus IMHO the blue interior looks cheap and tacky... Keep searching, it will be worth it in the end

Well, if you wanted a black one maybe you'd benefit from being picky.

But if you have to have a blue one (I did!), this might be worth a real close look.

The carfax doesn't seem like a disaster. I'm not wild about the blue dash, but if it bothers you I'd think you could find replacement pieces for way less than the cost of a plane ticket... and you'll likely need a plane ticket to get a blue one.

20s... if it had them... wouldn't be great. But it's not like they were on 1979 Corolla that was engineered for 13s. Might have had the DUB sign just to pretend the 18s were 20s.

I'd be most concerned about any hack wiring in the car. Money seems right, location doesn't seem bad.

Good luck & don't get excited... there are about 326 other ones ('cause you can't have mine :) !)

Well thanks for all the comments. My first thoughts were getting interior back to stock. I did not know what DUB was, I think I might sit this one out. If anyone is in that area maybe they can take a look at it fir me. Thanks!

there are about 326 other ones ('cause you can't have mine :) !)Actually, it's fewer than that...there were threads posted a couple of years ago showning a blue that was rolled, and a few that were crashed or burned. :depress:

Just for kicks, get prices on the interior parts that you would want to replace and go from there. I know that the factory subwoofer could be a pretty penny.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I'm not sure how bad he wants blue or how soon he wants it, but with so few (and sadly, getting fewer) this might be in the top 5 of all the blue ones available now... if you can find 5 blue ones now... I dunno... haven't looked in 2 years and 4 weeks!

I could hook your azz up with the fac-to-ree sub and amp. Cheep, too!

OK, I know it's easy to lose touch with all the cliches and such as we get older, but what is the meaning of "DUB".

BTW- the candy blue interior trim is cheezy as :censor: !

Unfortunately the black one was totalled on the way home from the Yonkers meet last year. I took a helluva financial beating on that car! So now I'm in Fla. and ready to buy another. Say hi to all for me.

DUB means 20" or greater sized rims. Has also become the name of a toy company and magazine dedicated to a certain 'demographic' of bling.
