Just recieved my order of the Metco Control Arms. All I can say is, WOW! They are going on early next week and I can't wait. These are some serious pieces of hardware. Just thought I would share my happiness!:D

We have a drag day on the calendar for May 6th at Mason Dixon. It would be good to see you with those control arms rocket down the 1/4 mile.

That would be perfect except for the fact my wife is throwing me a 40th birthday party that afternoon. Let me know if you guys are heading up there again! I have to get this beast to the track!!!

Doesn't the addition of these stiffer control arms help decrease 60' times to some extent?

Dear Mr. Cheeseman,

Let me know how those new control arms truely compare. I may take the plunge on them next Summer if they come recommended by you...

that's what they say. I'd search the forums to see who 'they' are and see if it worked for them

Without any doubt, improved control arms will improve 60 foot times, and a lot of other driving stuff too. LOL...In the word of Bachman-Turner Overdrive..."You ain't seen nothing yet!"

Congrats on your purchase, can't wait to read your impressions.

Just to chime in, im undecided. I think once I get the QA1 rears I'll be set. I had about 100-150 lbs of boxed parts in my back seat the other day and the car rode real smooth. Not sure about my little cornering issue...search and you shall see.

Thanks, Bob!

Your whole-hearted endorsement of the Metcos encouraged me to step up, also. One phone call to Trilogy Motorsports [they're a Metco Dealer] and I was good-to-go. The fact that Trilogy beat the lowest price I could find was icing on the cake.

Headed down to Ft. Myers this morning to see Carfixer, Metcos in tow. We changed 'em out in about 10 minutes. Literally nothing to it. Took us longer to set the lift and take off the Gorilla Wheel Locks. Now, I had the "limo" upper control arms, and the stock lowers. I guess I hadn't realized how flimsy these things were. Not much thicker than the American Express Card I bought the replacements on. The new ones were installed in minutes using the factory hardware.

Upon completion, we pulled her over to the alignment rack, as we had recently replaced the front tires. We had aligned the car two years ago this month. The machine revealed it was still perfect. No adjustments necessary or made. We pulled her out, and b.s.'ed a while, then I headed home.

Had I not known I had just replaced the control arms, I would've sworn someone put sway bars on it! The difference is that dramatic. Even going in a straight line, the rear end felt "tighter" over bumps. I was able to take the I-75 on-ramp at a previously unthinkable speed.

Replacing the factory control arms makes the car ride and handle like you'd expect a car named "Marauder" to perform. Not harsh, just firm and stable. My only regeret is that I waited this long.

Congrats Cheese thanks for the info and Also thanks to Tallboy for the info and the PM. I am all over this. When I get back to Sebring, no excuses. If I kill me it won't be the FruitPunch's fault. Dennis:D

I'd recommend the Metco or other upper and lower control arms and the Addco front and rear sway bars. I also installed the Metco Watts link..... don't know if it really made any difference but it sure looks good!

Oh, the watts link is definitely worth the extra $. After I put mine on, the car will do things you wouldn't think it could do, like leap into the left-center lane on a left turn across a four-lane with a concrete divider at WOT.

Knowing the geometry, IMO the control arms do more for acceleration and braking traction since they eliminate all the axle wrap-up associated with those problems. But it's the watts link in combination with those arms that finishes the setup and directly addresses the issue of the side-to-side play in the axle giving an awesome rear suspension control that is close to Grand Prix class, the only drawback being it isn't an independent rear suspension. But it's close, handling wise.
