greg:

3 things...

1) Plugs: make sure your wrench does NOT attempt to re-gap the Denso plugs...it's very easy to ruin them...per Dennis, install them right out of the box..

2) Thermostat: make sure your wrench knows the proper coolant re-fill procedure for the modular 4.6 motor...it's not a straight drain-and-fill operation...

3) Chip: Be ABSOLUTELY sure you remove ALL of the translucent bluish-green conformal coating on the PCM connector, both sides...that's the most common fault with chip installation failures. Read Dennis's directions carefully; the install procedure is also posted in the FAQ here.

I don't think there's anything else tricky about the parts you've bought...

Be sure your wrench is used to 8.8 gears and has the proper tools.

Where you getting it done, BTW?

Does the 4.30 gear set need a special center pin or anthing like that?

That's a Dennis or one of our talented "wrenches" question. Give him a call if you don't get a response, he just put 4:30s in a car last week.

No it just needs some one that has done the 8.8 rearend and has the proper tools to set it up, and your home free and you will love the change. Call me if you have any questions.

what is the procedure for refill on a 4.6?

you want to fill the coolant through the cross over pipe fitting and leave it loose to bleed any air out
