Why does it seem soo mamy people are getting rid of thier marauders? I wish I had the chance to get one, I recently purchased an LX sport due to the lack of Marauders, now it seems everyone is getting rid of theirs. I hope it is not the gas that scares people away. I know the marauder owners get screwed with the premium gas, but is it a huge price to pay for a badass car?

I suppose many are being sold or traded off because they are falling out of warranty and three years sounds about average for people that keep in newer cars and/or have changing wants and needs.
Mine will be four years old in June and so far she has held up very well. Gas mileage isn't really a concern since she isn't my daily driver anymore and the fun factor is far from wearing off. I don't see anything out there that I would really want to replace her with anyway, so why part ways?
My longest stint with a vehicle was 10 years, and I can see myself holding on to the Marauder for at least that long. Then again, you never know what tommorow will bring.

My stance...or attitude, with my Marauders is crystal clear. I chose these cars to drive and along with it goes the cost of premium gasoline. You wont hear me gripe about the prices...I made the choice and proudly stand beside my large, four-door, fire belching behemoths and concentrate on keeping the dirt off them...( steps off soapbox )...

We (the people who have sold) are indeed the strongest members of The Collective. There are no more Marauders being made and there are no opprotunities to grow the owner membership on this board unless a few dedicated souls are willing to part with their rides to bring new blood into the fold. We are the few...

I would think the strongest members actually own one...

You're confusing strong with selfish. If you realize how truly wonderful these amazing cars are, you know that you share that with the world, right? There are only so many to go around. If you choose to Bogart your Marauder, that's okay- I'm all about the common good.Truly, if I have a fault- it is that I care too much.*
*Of course, this post and the previous one are tongue-in-cheek. Just having a bit of fun, Bro.

So your saying I should keep my Marauder threw 4 thermostats,
2 drivers side struts, radiator, cooling fan, wiper motor, alternator,
drivers head tick, blue smoke, alternator wiring harness, lower control arm.
All this between 6,500-19,000mi? Im strong, but not that strong. She
is going back. Still have a place in my heart for her though.:(

Most people change jobs every few years. Most people change houses every few years. Most people change cars every few years.
I have now reached the absolute pinnacle of car ownership with the Marauder. It just doesn't get any better than this. :) I am keeping this one.
I am also lucky to only have had fairly minor mechanical issues.

I have owned a lot of cars over the years but never one that was more than my latest ride till something I wanted more came along. Most I kept only long enough that the warrentee was expiring, some not that long. I had one I truely loved and kept for 15 years, its successors(3) newer and better(my ass) didn't last a year each. I won't make that mistake again. I truely love this car, can't stop myself from mods and don't want to. Never did this before and now I know why the others were just rides. I am going to the hole with this one and then my son may continue the fun if he wants. The new blood will just have to buy one of the 168 others. Mine ain't for sale, ever. Dennis:D The bad news is...I am going to keep posting stupid stuff here till I am gone for good. Sorry I just like this stuff and the people here to much to stop.

Maybe its the case with you 2003 MIB but I highly doubt that the reasoning behind most owners parting with their MM is due them wanting someone else to have the opportunity to enjoy a Marauder. :bs: Thats like finding the perfect woman, everything is just right. SHe looks great, sounds great, rides great and is classy at that. Then you decide to break things off with her so another guy can enjoy her???
Not trying to start anything so dont take it that way. Just saying I could care less what someone else drives, as long as I drive what I want. Guess im selfish but I couldnt see myself driving anything other than a Marauder.

Oh, it wasn't the reason for me either...search the threads. I never owned (and probably never will) a "better" car. Someone else enjoying it is what I tell myself to feel better about the decision.

I never have had such a head turner of a car before, and this is the first new car I have owned. I intend to keep it for the long haul even though things are getting very tight finacially. I am down sizing my living quarters so that I can keep the car. I will do everything in my power to keep her, although I must admit I have almost put her up for sale a couple of times, I just could not bring my self to do it. The finacial future is cloudy but I am looking forward to 4 1/2 years in the future when she is paid off. Mike
