So...I've heard chatter about this before, and heard people were banging their heads trying to figure this one out...
Has anyone figured out how to edit the tune in the Marauder to disable traction control by default?
It'd be awesome if the tc switch was an "on" switch instead of an "off" switch, and that when I turn it on my tc is off to start with.
Any luck? Any leads?

It is easy to change, you need the software.
Zack showed this in a previous thread.

I never tried this because I do not have traction control. I posted this a while ago.

Don't you need the Pro software version to do this yourself?

I thought someone posted they just reversed the switch itself?

The switch appears to only be a momentary type switch. When depressed it will either send voltage, create a circuit, or open a circuit that sends either a voltage or no-voltage signal indicating a change in the current status of the TC.
I don't believe reversing the leads would have any effect.

Don't bother trying to do it through the tune on a MM. To many bells and whistles illuminate on the dash when you turn it off through the tune. Not worth it. On '99 and up Mustangs it works good through the tune, it simply disables it and no other problems come from that, other then you cant turn it back on with the switch.
There are a few people making an after market type timer circuit that taps/plugs into the TC switch and simply turns it off for you after a few seconds expire from a key on cycle. I know there out there for the Mustangs and I'm sure they'll work on a MM as well.

I later posted that it does not work on the Marauder after testing on Mac's Silver 300B.

You can't fully disable Trac Ctrl via the tune because of the ABS controller used on Panthers. Mustangs, IIRC can be set this way.
The timer circuits are already out there and they are a total waste of money. A $2 Radio Shack rocker switch does the same job. Basically you hook up the SPST rocker switch and click it ON (short contacts). When you start the car, it will disable to Trac Ctrl OFF. When you need it again, just flick the rocker switch OFF again and viola, it's ON.
This is derived from a Ford kit to disable the trac ctrl on CVPIs:
jumper lead to short out the control wire (to disable TC all the time)
and instructions on how to remove the Trac Ctrl bulb in the instrument cluster

Why would you want to do that?
Give me your line of reasoning why this would be a good thing to do. I'm not criticizing, I just don't see a good reason to do that.
Yet.

Thusfar the indications above are that the Mustang systems differ greatly from the Panther systems, so I'm not sure this would work for us...or would it?

For me traction control is more of an annoyance than a help. If it's wet out, knowing these car's squirrely nature on bald rears I might keep it on as a safety net. Around town or crusing just about any other time it gets in the way.
Even in the snow, I turn it off. I get much farther in snow without traction control.
I cannot stand the feeling of when t/c kicks in when I leave it on and get on it. The herkying and jerkying the car does cannot be good for anything. And if I'm getting into a situation like that, 99% of the time it was something I knowingly did. :)
I'd prefer to have t/c as an option and be off by default rather than on by default.

$2 rocker switch from Radio Shack
-or-
$50+ cockamamie timer circuit
Both do the same job. Both install VERY easily. Pick your choice.
FORD, I repeat, FORD, released a kit for disabling the Traction Control on police cars by shorting the two leads together. If Ford feels it is safe to do this to "permanently" disable Traction Control, then it is perfectly safe to use a rocker switch to accomplish the same thing.
