As soon as I get a breather from this hectic work schedule, I'll be sure to put some stuff together. Don't know what, yet, but I'll think of something.

I'll second the request, though... I'd love to see other MM videos too!

How big are they?

If you email them to me, I can host them on my domain, np. :)

In the meantime, I can just offer video of my Caprice:

A REALLY short burn out (actually was 50ft long but the retard filming cut the video short) of 477KB (MPEG). Me racing a 1971 El Camino (the in cam guy thinks we tied, but I got him by a bumper) is 4.83MB (MPEG, probably need to convert to WMV). And me doing a burnout in behind my school is 976KB (MPEG).

Go ahead and send them to me. Might have trouble with the 4MB file and email, but let's try. I have Outlook set to d/l mail automatically.

Well, a couple weeks later I finally get around to sending TFB the vids. Thanks for hosting them man!

I guess I could give a brief description of each. #1 was shot this winter in my school's parking lot during lunch. Everyone still says I've got some big one's to go out and do that during school! Anyway, one of my friends grabbed the schools cam, but didn't really know how to work it. So the begining and end are chopped. I launched after the burn-out and left a good 50ft+ length of tread. #2 is a race between me and a 1971 Chevy El Camino. That car has a pretty stout 350 in it. He got me at the launch, I caught up and beat him by a bumper though (even though the following car said it was tied). This was late at night on a little strip WAY back in the middle of no where. HAD we backed up a little further, we woulda had the full 1/4 mile, but we only ran up to about 88-90MPH, so we were a tad shy. #3 was after the race. We had a little burn-out session in behind our school after totally destroying one of our rival schools parking lots with burn-out marks (not so much me, but the chase cam car (2000 Chevy Camaro SS) in #2 and #3.).

So, here they are! Enjoy!

Nah... I've only done like 5 burn-outs with the car total!

LML, we're not your folks, I ain't buying only "like 5 burnouts." Good vid's though, just be careful, I think #2 borders on felonious activity.

Nice vids! But, is it just me, or do the guys talking in the chase car sound like Beavis and Butthead?

Hey LML, are you sure that your Marauder is bone stock  because those burnouts look pretty impressive, :burnout: you could've fooled me.
Actually beating that El Camino must have felt real good, :D you also started to pull away from that SS that was trailing you.

Everything I've done is in my sig. Beating the Camino did feel pretty good, but that SS can walk on me, it's not even funny. He got on it at first, then short shifted cause he was going to run us over!

I'm impressed. MY MM won't do that, at least I haven't been able to coax any squealing tires out of it. Are these cars with the burning tires all modified, or are any of them stock? If any of you have bone stock cars that will spin tires, what am I doing wrong? I'll admit my lack of experience with muscle cars, racing, etc.

Dont feel bad. I cant get my MM to do a good burnout either, and its not that i dont have much experience. I drive a 02 lightning, I cant waot to get soem 4.10's and a chip for my MM. Its probaly good thing I cant do good burnouts with it. I would go broke buying tires for it and for my lightning

A medium-mileage MM might have a harder time spinning the wheels right off the start, by just pounding on the loud pedal. The looser torque converter helps with getting the engine up into the powerband sooner for a good jump off the line, but it's still not enough. Maybe with more mileage, but not at the point where I'm currently sitting.

So the trick is to get the MM engine to a higher RPM where it makes more power. By holding the brakes just enough for the front wheels to hold the car still, you apply enough throttle to overcome the back brakes and once the rear wheels start spinning (and the RPM increases past the stall speed of the converter), it'll be smoke city before too long. Most factory brakes are front-biased due to weight transfer on braking, so you need to find the good combination of braking pressure to hold the car and not go as far as blocking the rear wheels.

It's really like night and day. I had 5 cousins (incl. myself) on a little 'road test' during a little shindig at my place in April, and I decided to launch the car from a stop starting with a little smokey. Once those tires started spinning, I was surprised to see how easily they kept spinning! I'm sure those with aftermarket higher stall converters must have a blast with wheelspin.

I'm bone stock, so I dunno what to tell ya... That was all when I had like 2500-3000 miles on the car too. I like to let the car jump a little first before stopping it to hold the burn-out, just to be a little easier on the drive-train. But like I said, I've only done like MAYBE 6 total with the car.

i hear our stock tires are pretty sticky too...dont know the details of that.
