What a great time! It was funny watching some of the Ford suits looking at the Marauder. I cant tell you how many times I
heard "Why didnt we make it this way?" or "We didnt make this car did we?" Some of the people were oblivious to the muscle
cars there, others couldnt get enough and were real car nuts. The to best comments about the Marauder, both by women
...."Damn, that car is sexy!" and "This is the one wicked, bad azzed sleeper..."

One of Mark Martin's Nextel Cup Ford Fusion-the real deal, this car raced this year already! Behind it is a Ford ARCA car.

This is a Ford Five Hundred race car, Powered by a Ford GT Powertrain mounted Mid Car...the motor is literally where the back seat was.

WOW!!!
REALLY NICE CARS!!!
Thank you for posting those photos....
It makes me happy to see that someone is keeping the 'FORD PERFORMANCE torch' lit, even if most of the numb-nuts at FORD don't realize that performance STILL SELLS!!!!
HMMMMM......:hmmm:......why can't Ford keep Mustang GTs in stock, yet everything else that they (try to) sell sits on the lot gathering pollen dust??????????

There are a few that would cancell this show. I heard that some of the Ford brass think this show is ridiculous and a waste of time. Its really sad. The FME guys will actually have a fight on their hands to do it next year again. I told them our club would help any way we can to help it happen again. Its a big public relations deal, right in their laps. I think a lot of the Ford people honestly love it. The Marauder was one of only a couple of cars that always had a large crowd around it, loving the fact that the big Merc took a best of show in her class at the Autorama! Bill Ford was actually checking out the cars too.

Wow Clay was there. Too Cool. Anyway, was the 500 GT-R blue? If so I seen it at the Autorama this year and that thing is wicked.

Thats what I was told, I missed him though. The Five Hundred GTR was a dark blue with the White stripes. 529 RWHP....4600 lbs....best time of 12.5 I think they said.

Here are some pictures I took today at the FME Ford Headquarters Event. At the start there was Paul's car with his new Zack grill, Mike with his newly powercoated built engine and my car with nothing new yet. Dave's car was representing us inside the Headquarters building. Later, Paul E, Kevin, John O and Mike A showed up in support. All together we had 7 MM's there. Also met a few other guys with MM. What a start to the begining of the year.

That car sounds cool! Probably a bit impractical, but I really like the idea of stuffing a S/C 5.4 engine into the back seat of a sedan!!!
Looks like a great event and some nice looking cars!

You can now create a subfolder under Events in the Gallery. All the pics in this thread are bogging it down and will be lost and forgotten for future reference. Lots of cool pics, Darryl & Dave.

You caught that eh! When the show closed to the public, She volunteered to take a couple with the Marauder. Unfortunately she unzipped that top down a little too far as she leaned across the hood and somethings popped out. The results were 3 pictures not suitable for posting on MM.net! Just when I thought a freshly detailed Black Marauder couldnt look any better, She made it look Smooooookin!

Good pictures guys...although I'm sad that my truck only made it into the background of your pictures. It was nice meeting you all. Pehaps one of these days I'll have another Marauder in the family...and keep my girlfriend away from it......lol

Another interesting trivia fact, I was told that the Marauder was the first and only Mercury to get the honor of parking in the Ford World Headquarters for this car show in the past. Cool.....

Great photos, guys!
I hope Ford wakes up and realizes what a fantastic resource it has in the people of FME. They do a lot of volunteer work for the company, and are among its most vocal advocates. You can't "buy" loyalty like that. I hope they don't throw it away. These Open Houses have been held at WHQ for quite a few years now. This year there was less going on inside (e.g., no refreshments), but more cars outside. Unfortunately, there are still quite a lot of people (including people well-placed within the Company) who are not "car people" at all. To them, it is like any other business ... making automotive appliances.
I still meet people in the day-to-day work environment who've never heard of the Marauder.
But, back to the positive: It was great to see everyone at WHQ, and great to hear some of the good feedback Dave had on his car. Other than the Marauders, I really like that lime gold Anglia, too!
