PUREVIL ProRauder... That really rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

Anyway, I'm in the home stretch and down to the little things. Next on the list is a new set of fuel rails. I located these Aeromotive parts:
http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/prod_imgs/img-55-1-large.jpg
And they say they are for the 99-04 Ford 4.6 GT Fuel Rail Kit #14103. Will these bolt to our stock lower intake?

Second, the reason for the new rails are two-fold. 1) I need the bigger flow for those 60lb injectors and 2) I need to relocate the FRPS (Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor) so that it sits lower than the top of the lower intake. I also found the Aeromotive FRPS adapter and it says it can be mounted to these rails or remotely on the fuel line so I can retain my sensor. Well, I need to retain it so this looks like a good combination.

Anyone know what else I will need to connecth these to my factory fuel line? If I replace my lines from the tank, is there a kit anyone can recommend to do this mod?

C'mon, step up to the plate and help build this ProRauder!

Thanks!

John

Wow, great questions, but brings to mind others from my side...

What sort of mods did you make to your intake for an adapter to the 6-71? Are the fuel rail mounting bosses in the same locations? If so, you could use fuel rails for '99-'01 Cobra or '03-'04 Mach1. Not sure about the '03-'04 Cobra. Doubtful the GT rails will have mounting tabs in the right place.

Just make sure whatever you get is designed for the remote FRPS so the unsightly holes and machined flats are not on the fuel rails to detract from the clean setup. I believe Marty said he used two driver's side rails for a MM (or maybe 2 passenger's side from a Cobra) when he put together his return-style system.

Dennis offers an upgraded fuel system with bigger filter, braided steel lines, twin Cobra pumps, etc. I believe his kit has all necessary adapter fittings.

BTW, the only rails I found which are really designed to fit the MM were from CPR, but I wasn't totally happy with the fit and modified them.

The 6-71 will mount to the top of the factory lower intake on an aluminum plate machined for this. So, the rails and FRPS need to be below this level so they won't interfere.

So to answer your question, I'm going to use the stock lower intake. I really like the red anodized rails above but I'm not brand loyal to any fuel rail maker. I just wasn't sure which rails match our lower intake and thought the 4.6 GT was the same as the Mach 1.

Tomorrow I'll give Dennis a call.

Thanks for the input so far.

John

You are sticking with the non-returning system?

You are sticking with the non-returning system?

A returnless system can support 750rwhp.
Just ask Tim at Modular Powerhouse in Georgia.
He builds twin turbo Cobras all day long making over 700 to the tire and leaves it returnless.
Its all in the tune.

Yes. As far as the computer knows it is the same as if it had a kenne bell or whipple on it. I'm going the route of KISS.

What rails did you go with Marty?

I wasn't sure what John's ultimate hp goal was.

I respect Tim and his shop he knows our shop pretty well too. Our shops trade work. He sure knows how to tune a mod motor!
